MOBIC (MELOXICAM): Meloxicam is used to treat arthritis. It reduces pain, swelling, and stiffness of the joints. Meloxicam is known as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). I found that Voltaren took away all my pain, i rarely use pain relief because i find it never helps or takes too long to take affect and just "soldier on".As i am only young and relatively healthy i did not experience any side effects... HOWEVER my parents both have had bad side effects.... so i dont recommend it if you suffer from High blood pressure, IBS, are prone to stomache ulcers, prone to reflux, heart burn or are an asthmatic.Otherwise if like me you are healthy and just need pain relief when nothing else will cut it just take one a day, and dont stay on them.. the chances of getting side effects seem to increase according to the length of time you continue using them (like most drugs) and the effectiveness of the pain relief can also wear off over time.
I have suffered from anxiety and depression every since high school. I was taking 10mg a day for about 8 months and I suppose my anxiety did go down. The problem was that I drank more while taking this medication. Another strange thing is that since much of my anxiety was gone I had an attitude that I did not care what people thought. More confidence I suppose, but this was not a good thing sometimes because I would drink and then watch out! I would be a drunk person with an attitude of 'I don't give a sh*t!' One month I started to get severe suicidal thoughts. I have had these before, but I really thought that I may kill myself! I decided to get off of the drug cold turkey to see if this went away. It was not a huge deal just a little dizziness, and some brain farts/zaps. Not nearly as bad as paxil! Now I am thinking about trying lexapro again because my anxiety is getting to be too much... Hope it is a good choice....I feel for all of you! Having these problems sucks! I
After taking Clarithromicin, Metronidazole and Nexium for H Pylori and can only describe the last month as hell. The side effects were numerous. Now I am on Lansoprazole 30mg in the morning and Nexium 40mg at night and I am still having a minature hell. The bloating, headaches and frequent urination is driving me nuts. I am going to see my doctor this week and ask her to take me off both these drugs.
Where should I start? When not taking OR reducing dosage I got the following:- burnin/stinging all over my upper body and hands-tight chest, nausea, diarrhoe, weird body aches,sadness-Anxiety out of nowhere, fatigue no matter how much sleep, warm/hot flash from the core of my body spreading out. Balance issues, just feeling weird overall, as if im not me
Sex drive is low..lost of confidence..
The usual redness and itching at injection sites with some bruising.
Inability to fall asleep at night, often want a nap during the day
Has been a wonder drug for me. I have been on it for 15 years and it completely gave me my life back. No more debilitating suicidial depressions and no more mania either. I am on an even keel. As far as I am concerned it is the only treatment for bipolar disorder. During the initial phase, 1st few months you have to give it a chance b/c it takes awhile for your brain chemicals to level back out and your body to adjust to the medicine. Plus you need a good doctor who teaches you how to take this medicine, like when you are sick with "stomach flu" for example your electrolytes are messed up and you should come off drug for about a day or so, so you do not become toxic. Vomiting and diarrhea messes up lithium levels and one pill's half life is 24 hrs. Once you learn all these things you will never get toxic again and will be able to manage your condition without difficulty.
I felt better, literally, five hours after taking this drug. IT SAVED MY LIFE! Only side effects are jitteriness, sort of like my body is buzzing, if I take too much. Takes longer to have an orgasm, but it is still possible.
