Side Effects for Maxalt-mlt (rizatriptan benzoate)

MAXALT-MLT (RIZATRIPTAN BENZOATE): Rizatriptan is used to treat migraines. It helps to relieve headache, pain, and other migraine symptoms (including nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light/sound). Prompt treatment helps you return to your normal routine and may decrease your need for other pain medications. Rizatriptan belongs to a class of drugs known as triptans. It affects a certain natural substance (serotonin) that causes narrowing of blood vessels in the brain. It may also relieve pain by affecting certain nerves in the brain. Rizatriptan does not prevent future migraines or lessen how often you get migraine attacks. (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)

I was a little iffy about depo immediately after the first shot. I have a history of bipolar, and my manic and depression symptoms increased greatly. My first period lasted about 2 weeks of light spotting, then went away. I was told by my mother who is a nurse that this would lessen and she was right.By the end of my third month, I realized that as with any drug or birth control, you will have initial symptoms until your body gets used to it. With pills, i had morning sickness much worse than I experienced with Depo. I love it for its convenience. I initially had vaginal dryness, but after a while it was like a faucet down there [sorry to be graphic] which can get annoying at times, but the man i'm seeing thinks its great...he also doesnt know its because of depo though haha. Overall, minus the mood swings, i love it. It's great to have natural spontaneous sex without the risk of getting pregnant or the stress of remembering to take my pill and forgetting and freaking out for a week. I don't reccomend it for everyone, but please don't be put off by your initial symptoms, as they will get better. Hope i helped!

I've been taking Fosamax for 7 years and it really stopped my osteoporosis in it's tracks. My risk of fracture decreased, especially in my spine. I changed to Boniva because it is easier to take once a month, rather than once a week. I have no complaints. I expect no problems in switching from Fosamax to Boniva.

Problem went away 1 day after stopping the medication. Will rather have the allergies than this side effect.

nausea, diarrhea (not the C. dificile kind, it was usually really dark or yellow and not bubbly), numbness of feet, felt like crap all over, dizzy, lost appetite (could barely eat), dry sinuses, dry throat, it basically sucked the water out of me because my body was trying to get rid of it.

the upshot is...Rhinocort alleviated almost all of my allergy symptoms within 2 days. The downside (which far outweighs the benefits) is terrible anxiety and bad moods. This started within a few days of use. I have become very easily and irrationally upset. Ive got 5 kids to be mother too and they are all tiptoeing around me...its not worth it. Yesterday was my last dose. I wont take it again.

face itching, esp nose. unable to sleep most of the time. sometimes when in sleep or near sleep mode...feels like my eyes are rolling inside my head...thirsty

Only on 4th day of first cycle (days 2-6).... I hope it's worth it!

After 7 days the drug did not seem to be working so I followed up with the Doctor who told me to stick with it. I got a rash on day 8 - felt like bad sunburn - stopped taking avelox. Took again on day 10 and the rash was back 10x's worse, my face was on fire I went to ER - blood pressure was 144/104 - never had this problem before. Tongue and throat swelling.

I was told that this great new pill would perhaps help with endometriosis. My cramps were debilitating. Since being on it I have bled continuously. I would not recomend it.

Withdrawal is pretty bad for something that the official literature says is not addictive or dependency creating. I've been on it for over five years at 15mg/day (higher at times). Withdrawal symptoms for me is pretty much limited to a permanent stomach cramp, especially bad in the morning. (The same symptoms I always got when I miss three or more doses; so I know it's remeron withdrawl.) Anyhow, it's only been five days so I hope the withdrawal symptoms go away within a month.
