Side Effects for Halflytely (bisacodyl; polyethylene glycol 3350; potassium chloride; sodium bicarbonate; sodium chloride)

I woke up at 5 am with painful cramps. It worked, but a little too good. It gave me diarrhea. I was naieve about this medicine, I had never taken it before. I didn't expect it to completely clean me out. Also when I got up in the morning I was nauseated.

Invest $30 or so in a good "Nursing Drug Guide." I am no longer in nursing, but I use it constantly. DON'T BE AFRAID TO CALL YOUR DOC AND TELL HIM A PARTICULAR DRUG IS NOT WORKING OUT FOR YOU! There are lots of other drugs out there that can do the job with few(er) side effects. Check out Ketec, a new antibiotic for respiratory infections--it's a 5 day dose, relatively few side effects (I had blurry vision for a few days), and much more tolerable than Biaxin. Obviously, Ketec didn't work for me, but then again, I've had upper and lower respiratory infections for about a year now and due to some immunological problems need a really long dose of strong antibiotics. Good luck. Feel free to e-mail me. CJ

I have taken bactrim before to treat the only other UTI I have had since I was a child and it worked fine. I recently found out I had another one so my doctor put me on it again. The first one was over 6 yrs ago. This time, about 5 days in I didn't feel like my symptoms were improving much and I started to feel flu like symptoms. Day 6, I had horrible back pain and excessive sweating. Day 7, I was sweating more profusely and then broke out in hives so I stopped taking it and called my doctor. Also on day 5, I developed a painful swollen gland on my neck behind my ear. I was suppose to take 2 a day for 10 days. I will be drinking lots of water to flush it out so my doctor can start me on something else.

Since I started with the shots 17 years ago the only side effect is that I have no period. I have not gained any weight, matter of fact when I started I weighed 175, now, I am a size 10, and weigh between 135 and 145. I have been this way for all these years and have yet to suffer. I guess this worked for me.

I only took one pill of the Tamiflu and havent sence. ill just fight the flu the old way... to everyone else do more research before taking.

I can take pseudoephedrine. Must be the Loratadine. Will not take it again.

Despite the negative side-effects, Remeron has been a surprisingly good drug. Interestingly it never seems to be a first line drug for OCD or anxiety and yet both have been very well managed by the med. I've tried everything including Wellbutrin (increased anxiety and OCD), Effexor (sweat like a maniac, zero libido), Luvox & Zoloft (both worked for anxiety to some degree but had memory problems on both and sexual side effects were not tolerable) and Celexa (sweating, sexual side effects). Needless to say there is always a trade off with these medications but if you're a man in your mid-30s, the sexual side-effects can be particularly hard to live with. I have found Remeron to be relatively free of any of the usual SSRI sweating / libido / cognitive & memory inducing side effects. I'll check back up on this board in a few months to give it a final verdict. If I haven't ballooned into a fat slob, I'll give this one an A.

Insomnia, bleeing 3 out of 4 weeks per month (some heavy, some light), chest pains, depression/crazy moods

I like it a lot. Don't have a period. Just a little spotting 1 time for 1 hour.

Overall not a bad experience. Tasted foul but went down ok. Nothing happened after first dose, but a couple of hours after second dose things started moving. Got a sore bottom but E45 cream helped. Diarrhoea finished about 11am so went to bed. Next morning took diluted gastrogafin which tasted better. Diarrhoea was still there slightly but made it to hospital which is 45 mins drive. It was doable but moviprep tastes better. Don’t worry about soiling the table apparently, if there is any thing left in the colon the tube used for the air takes it away.

I advice people go to this webcite neurorelief.com/newsletterarchive.php?issue=408 and see what TAAT can do.
