Side Effects for Cellcept (mycophenolate mofetil)

CELLCEPT (MYCOPHENOLATE MOFETIL): Mycophenolate is used in combination with other medications to keep your body from attacking and rejecting your transplanted organ (such as kidney, liver, heart). It belongs to a class of medications called immunosuppressants. It works by weakening your body's defense system (immune system) to help your body accept the new organ as if it were your own. I wrote a review for Neurontin about 6 weeks ago and couldn't have been more pleased. I thought this was the drug I had been waiting for all of my life. My depression, anxiety, and insomnia were greatly reduced and I could still have organsms. Then, about two weeks ago, it stopped working. I was so disappointment - my insomnia and anxiety (but not the depressive thoughts) returned. My shrink upped the dose from 900 to 1200 mgs at bedtime. Symptoms have not improved and my insomnia is worse than ever. On top of that, the increased dosage has caused me to be extremely tired, lethargic and I am now experiencing the word loss (I gave a talk yesterday and noticed how difficult it was - I had given this same talk numerous times and could not remember my presentation.) I am so upset and disappointed because I thought I finally found the right medicine for me. To make matters worse I took my old sleep inducing standby - Klonapin. With the Neurontin in my system the Klonapin had an antagonistic relationship and I was awake all night! Want to wean off before I gain more weight and lose my job. I really can't blame the Neurontin for the weight gain - it could be because I am too tired to exercise.

Fatigue nauseated lower back pain dizziness feeling warm headaches

A few minutes after the first pill, I developed leg cramps on the side of my left leg that sometimes radiated to the buttock. As a medical transcriptionist, I feel I can safely say that it felt like vascular pain, like there was no blood flow to the area. The pain subsided once I went to bed, but the next day, by the end of the day, the pain had returned.

In the beginning, I was drousy and had dry mouth.

I decided on Mirena for birth control after my 2nd child was born. I noticed greater-than-usual hair loss for about 3 months after having it inserted. After that, my periods stopped completely for 9 months, which was wonderful! I was rushed to the ER for heart palpitations (which I'd never had) and low blood pressure. After having Mirena for nearly 11 months, I suddenly got a period and it went downhill from there. I gained 8 pounds in 2 months (mostly noticable in the stomach), experienced extreme fatigue and lower back pain, very bad mood swings with general irritability. By the 12th month I had Mirena, I was experiencing severe joint pain that OTC pain relievers weren't helping at all. The pain was too much to live with, so I had the Mirena removed. I've felt like a different person since!

I have been taking this drug for sometime and i still get nauseated, irritated, angry & cant sleep at night.

Burning, itching, pain, torture! Sore vulva, white patches and open scattered sores like a chemical burn. DO NOT USE. I can barely walk, hurts to sit, I cry every time I urinate.

Particularly diahrea! Many unscheduled washroom stops over the time I've taken this medication. Lately ankle swelling and lower tendon pain that was not experienced previously.

Worked great for the acid reflux, but not worth the side effects. Stopped taking the drug for 3 days now and still experiencing extreme itching and soreness of muscles.
