LOPID (GEMFIBROZIL): Gemfibrozil is used along with a proper diet to help lower fats (triglycerides) and raise "good" cholesterol (HDL) in the blood. It may also help to lower "bad" cholesterol (LDL). Gemfibrozil belongs to a group of drugs known as "fibrates." It works by decreasing the amount of fat produced by the liver. Lowering triglycerides in people with very high triglyceride blood levels may also decrease the risk of pancreas disease (pancreatitis). However, gemfibrozil might not lower your risk of a heart attack or stroke. Talk to your doctor about the risk and benefits of gemfibrozil. In addition to eating a proper diet (such as a low-cholesterol/low-fat diet), other lifestyle changes that may help this medication work better include exercising, drinking less alcohol, losing weight if overweight, and stopping smoking. For anyone who is reading this, Flagyl (aka metronidazole) causes dysfunction and/or damage to the back region of the brain and also the nerves. This is due to the drug destroying a significant nutrient in your body called thiamine (aka, vitamin B1). In extreme cases, it is even possible to die from thiamine deficiency disease or become permanently disabled, so this is NOT a little problem. Have been on intro dose of 37.5mg for last two weeks. Had nausea in mornings until I ate a full breakfast with pill, now it's gone. Have noticed decreased libido and difficulty achieving orgasm in sexual relations (but not masturbating). Sorry for TMI, but want everyone reading to know what I experienced.
have severe flu like symptoms if I miss one dose but feel the best I have ever felt in over 10 years.
Insomnia, rapid heart beat, heart palpitations, anxiety. I wasn't expecting any of this since I handle all medications quite well. Will never take again.
Had been taking this stuff for 5 years and it is now after reading your comments I can put 2 and 2 together. I though I had a disorder and I was gradually getting more anti social and anxious.This stuff is no good and its like a weigh is off my chest now. Havnt really experenced withdrawal except itchy but i'll get off this rubbish reguardless.

It was great at first...could drink red wine, champaign & even eat chocolate! Stopped the acid asperation at night & my burnt out voice disappeared.Could be the weight loss from the metal taste is what helped, not the prevacid? quitting today.

This drug had such horrible side effects for me. I think the coating of the stomach affected my nutrient absorption. Because I had horrible dizziness as if I would pass out. This happened after I would eat and while breastfeeding when my blood would move and it was frightening! I felt so shaky, lightheaded, fatigued and extremely anxious. I really wanted to be on this longer since it helped the reflux symptoms but it was awful.
Insomnia, loss of appetite, moody, agitated, mean, nervous, indolent, this is a real drug, probably won't be on the market much longer
