Side Effects for Livalo (pitavastatin calcium)

LIVALO (PITAVASTATIN CALCIUM): Pitavastatin is used along with a proper diet to help lower "bad" cholesterol and fats (such as LDL, triglycerides) and raise "good" cholesterol (HDL) in the blood. It belongs to a group of drugs known as "statins." It works by reducing the amount of cholesterol made by the liver. Lowering "bad" cholesterol and triglycerides and raising "good" cholesterol decreases the risk of heart disease and helps prevent strokes and heart attacks. In addition to eating a proper diet (such as a low-cholesterol/low-fat diet), other lifestyle changes that may help this medication work better include exercising, losing weight if overweight, and stopping smoking. Consult your doctor for more details. (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)

extreme nausea, headaches, extreme fatigue, bad mood swings- very emotional, these symptoms happened fairly quickly right after i started taking desogen

One hour after I took Day 1 dose, I began vomiting and had severe nausea and diarrhea. I spoke with my doctor who said it was highly improbable that it was due to the z-pak and he suggested I take my next dose the following day. I continued to have much more nausea...could not function throughout the day. I did not take the dose for Days 4 and 5. People rave about this antibiotic, but I won't take this again.

I also have ADHD. It actually did help with staying on task and not forgetting every single detail of things I needed to do, but affected my memory badly,ie., I know I have an SUV in my garage, but can't remember the make and model... I think it'e another drug failure for me. I had to undergo interferon therapy over a year ago and though Hep C is gone, my life is very painful and tired. So much for this one.

I am experiencing hot flashes; severe joint pain with extreme stiffness after sitting for more than 20 minutes; carb cravings; worsening of carpal tunnel symptoms; numbness in fingers; imsomnia; uncontrolled emotional swings (unexpected crying); difficulty to concentrate (could be residual chemo brain); pronounced fatigue due to greater joint pain experienced.

Has any other parent had serious side effects with concerta.

Headache. Fatigue, my legs felt heavy like I had been walking for hours in the desert. Thirsty, I couldn't get enough water. I felt shaky, like my blood sugar had dropped. Nausea. And diarrhea. No appetite. Overall weakness. I stopped taking it after the 2nd dose when I began itching all over and my lips blistered. My voice was hoarse. I could not sleep at night, if I did fall asleep I would jolt awake in panic with massive anxiety. I kept thinking something bad had happened to me, but I couldn't remember anything bad actually happening. Also, I have shoulder and neck pain that started with the first dose.

At times I feel unable to focus. The best I can describe it is like trying to carry on a conversation while your kid repeatedly says "dad, dad, dad". However, in my case it is often hard to concentrate due to the pain, so I call it a wash. Constipation is a minor problem considering how much it helps. Also, when it is wearing off I tend to get irritable for about half an hour so I try to isolate myself when it is wearing off(for me about 8 hours).

Constipation. No libido. Took away the lows but also took away the highs. Lack of concentration.

MY CHIEF AND ONLY COMPLAINT IS WEIGHT GAIN.. 9 MONTHS SINCE SURGERY AND I HAVE BEEN THE SAME WEIGHT GIVE OR TAKE 5 POUNDS NOW I AM BLOATED FULL BELLY AND 10 POUNDS HEAVIER,, BUT NO HOT FLASHES SO ITS WORTH IT IF I CAN DROP THE WEIGHT I WOULD BE HAPPY.. TRIED TO WEAN OFF BUT GOT THR FLASHES AND THEY ARE HORRIBLE

This medication has been a godsend for me. After struggling to get out of bed and make it thru a day of work with excruciating pain and a ton of blood loss I am very thankful for what it has done for me.To avoid weight gain while taking prednisone I have always gone on the paleo diet which is very beneficial in reducing inflammation. Dandelion Tea helps to rid the body of the water retention that comes along with taking it as well. The paleo diet helps because you can eat quite a lot while on it and it will not affect the number on the scale.
