after 10 days, had a severe delayed reaction. both ankles swollen and ended up with 2 tendon ruptures, and complications ensued with chronic pain in both legs and ankles. dangerous drug, severe delayed reactions can occur. is this site moderated by drug companies?

Delayed reaction. After 10 days, both ankles severe inflammationLed to two tendon ruptures, permanent pain and damage in both calves and ankles to tendons, muscles, nerves. Severe condition now 10 years later. DELAYED REACTION SYNDROME WAS NOT ON LABEL.

THERE CAN BE DELAYED REACTIONS THAT DO NOT APPEAR ON THE LABEL TOP WARN PATIENTS ABOUT. TAKING THIS DRUG RUINED MY LIFE. IT WAS WAY TOO STRONG A DRUG TO GIVE FOR A COMMON UTI. IT SHOULD ONLY BE USED IN A LIFE OR DEATH SITUATION. SHAME ON THE CO. AND FDA.

My urinary tract infection may have been STD-related. At any rate, Floxin knocked it out REAL fast, no side effects at all.

Side effects were basically mild, and the medicine helped a great deal in clearing up my infection. It helped to drink plenty of water and eat nutritious foods while I was taking it.

Had the same reaction to amoxicillin a couple years ago. I knew this drug was similar but I decided to give it a try because my urine culture showed the bacteria would work good with this medicine, and I didn't want to go on cipro after hearing all the bad things that can happen with that. Got a new prescription from the doc, hopefully that works better and gets rid of this damn uti.

itchy tongue, itchy palms, extreme soreness in arms, tightness in chest, soreness in hands similar to carpel tunnel syndrome, diarrhea

It actually helped with the palpitations

I'm actually sleeping through the night now. Feel much more rested.

I have had no problems with Ovcon 35 but the generic Balziva I started getting cramps and headaches. I have also tried Femcon Fe the chewable which I had no problem just the first week a bit dizziness and it went away.

As with any medication I'm sure it can effect different people in a whole range of ways but for me it is a good medication.

I've tried 3 courses of Lamisil over a period of 3 years. One for 2 months and another for 3 months. I've just stopped the third course (of 6 months) after 3 months as it is having zero effect on my nail situation.

I was taking a generic for Norvasc, Amlodipine. I took it for 7-8 months without noticing any side effects. Problems started with pain and stiffness in my neck muscles. A few months later I started having headaches, turned into serious migraines. I then started having blurred vision which eventually turned into double vision. It was so horrible I couldn't drive, had to bother people to come and pick me up and take me to see doctors who were totally stumped by my condition. After 4 months of awful headaches and vision issues and feeling exhausted all the time, It's as if this thing started moving down into my body. My legs became weak, all the muscles ached and my hips and knees became stiff. All the doctors had no idea what was wrong with me. After about 5 months of this nightmare, I decided to look up my medication. I was horrified but relieved to find out the reason for my condition. It was comforting to find all of the people on this blog posting their comments about the drug. It seems that prescription drugs are the last thing doctors think of when considering side effects. I stopped Amlodipine 18 days ago and it's still not completely out of my system. I didn't notice much change the first week. After that, a very gradual change, but each day gets a little bit better. The not knowing thing for so many months was scary as hell! So excited to get my life back!

Felt icky the first night I took it. But then, just simple drowsiness, so I take in the evening and sleep very well.

decrease in appetite, lost 18 lbs. also experienced frequent severe headaches, constipation, trouble remembering, confusion, very rapid heart rate, and actually felt pretty euphoric when i first started the medication.
