Duavee (bazedoxifene acetate; estrogens, conjugated) Side Effects, Uses Dosages

Side Effects for Duavee (bazedoxifene acetate; estrogens, conjugated)

Headache for a day or two then no side effects. I just feel more like myself than I have in a long time.

I am very glad my gyro was willing to prescribe hormone therapy. My regular Dr has a fear of it even though I have very low BP and get yearly mammograms. I think if a patient needs them it's a quality of life issue.

DUAVEE (BAZEDOXIFENE ACETATE; ESTROGENS, CONJUGATED): This medication is a combination product containing conjugated estrogens and bazedoxifene (an estrogen agonist/antagonist). It is used by women with a uterus to help reduce symptoms of menopause (such as hot flashes, vaginal dryness) and to prevent bone loss (osteoporosis) after menopause. Conjugated estrogens are female hormones which help to decrease menopausal symptoms caused by the body making less estrogen. Bazedoxifene is not a hormone, but works by acting like estrogen (as a selective estrogen receptor modulator or SERM) in some parts of the body. The bazedoxifene in this medication helps to preserve bone mass and reduces the risk of cancer of the uterus which can be caused by using estrogen. If you are using this medication to treat symptoms only in and around the vagina, consider using products applied directly inside the vagina instead of medications that are taken by mouth, absorbed through the skin, or injected. Beginning to wonder if this is the best treatment for me.

Given IV Toradol post op - It is 3 days post op. No pain, but have nausea, burping, lightheaded, dizzy, still tired, but not sleeping well, hot flashes (I have been post menopausal for >1 year and never had hot flashes before). Unusual rapid heart rate after nominal exertion. I don't feel steady/safe enough to drive a car. Feels like my blood pressure is too low.

Despite all the side effects, I will have to say that this antibiotic did knock out the infection when a round of 500 mg Amoxicillin four times a day, didn't do anything. The infection was causing such severe pain and swelling, so the Clindamycin did the trick, but at a high price.

Took Flagyl in hospital thru iv due to diverticulitus then after two days sent home with pill form 500 mg 3 x daily along with Levoguin 500 mg 1 time daily. Couldn't stand the side effects so contacted doctor after a week of pill form and he said to reduce it down to 1 per day. As soon as I missed one dose all side effects were gone except the metal taste in my mouth. The pain from the infection was gone before I left the hospital so I know the medicine did work.

Regulate periods and birth control

emotional outbursts, suicidal thoughts, edginess, irritability

tingling in hands and feet, appetite loss (lost about 10 lbs and had amazing abs!), I was moody according to my coworkers, quick to anger, dehydration, lost ability to sweat (@ 300mg), memory loss (got lost on the way home in the early stages), hard to focus, "word-finding" difficulties (present throughout treatment)

does not seem to keep my BP down, maybe 140/90

I would not recomment this medication to anyone for any reason.

all side effects passed after about one month. Anxiety, loss of appetite, constant "full" feeling, feeling like there was a lump in my throat, some trouble sleeping, some trouble reaching orgasm.
