Delestrogen (estradiol valerate) Side Effects, Uses Dosages

Side Effects for Delestrogen (estradiol valerate)

Breast soreness and increased size. Headaches, but have always had migraines/headaches. Weight gain. Tend to have some hot flashes several days before dose is due. Minimal acne, no change from prior to taking.

Headaches, extreme weight gain, hair loss, nausea, carb cravings, moodiness, depression, dizziness, fainting, water retention, acid reflux, vision changes, extreme fatigue, greatly increased sex drive, breast pain, back pain, elevated blood pressure

It controls my menopause symptoms flawlessly. That said, I think the side effects may kill me. Back to the drawing board.

Slight weight gain, cravings for carbs. Slight hair loss.

This is the only HRT that has worked for me since my hysterectomy. I have no appreciable side effects, and am having no menopausal symptoms! It's been my miracle drug!

makes me a little spacey; some headaches at first; overall a miracle drug not only for bad perimenopause symptoms but also for mood ~ has taken away most of my depression. ladies, try this in combo w/ an ssri, or try this first. it may be your hormones that are out of whack, not your brain chemistry.

DELESTROGEN (ESTRADIOL VALERATE): This medication is a female hormone (estrogen). It is used by women to help reduce symptoms of menopause (such as hot flashes, vaginal dryness). These symptoms are caused by the body making less estrogen. If you are using this medication to treat symptoms only in and around the vagina, products applied directly inside the vagina should be considered before medications that are taken by mouth, absorbed through the skin, or injected. This medication may also be used by women who are not able to produce enough estrogen (for example, due to hypogonadism, primary ovarian failure) and by men to treat prostate cancer. I started taking Cymbalta for Anxiety and Depression and overall felt it much improved my emotional state. I started on a low dose and eventually worked up to the therapeutic dose of 120 mg. My side effects started as the inability to realize when I had to pee. I would make it almost half way through the day realizing I didn't even pee when I got up. Eventually this effect caused the UTI's (2-3 month) and eventual Kidney Infection. I also began brusining very easily on my arms, legs and torso. I was instructed to add a small iron supliment, arnica supliment and topical arnica (which I did) with no relief from the bruising. My blood work came back normal throughout the testing over the months I was on the Cymbalta. Eventually the side effects were too much and increasing my Axiety and I came full circle to be back where I started. My Dr and I decided it was best to discontinue its use. It breaks my heart because at one point it felt like I'd be free of the intermittent emotional episodes. Cymbalta also works great for my mom who hasn't had any issues. Unfortunately my search continues...

I've been on Meridia for about 1 week, I don't know if I have loose any weight yet but I do see the changes in my body, at least around my belly. Is amazing how as soon as I started taking it I didn't have any cravings for sweets, I hardly feel any hunger, maybe somedays I have some side effects but is great to live a day without thinking just about food and I'm saving a lot on eating out, I don't crave it as much either, I'm excited to go to my doctor again.

I have been on the shot for 13 years and the only reason I have not quit is because I love not having periods and I am so afraid of if and when I do stop, how my body will react to it. How long will I bleed and what other problems will I have. I have gained 50lbs but I really don't blame Depo. I am lazy and eat fast food everyday. I had lost 50lbs in my 5th year on the shot but gained it all back. I am wondering about my bones in my golden years and still am trying to find information on long term affects. Everytime I get my shot I always ask that question and I never get an answer. WHAT ARE THE LONG TERMS AFFECTS??? I guess I will know soon...

I would just like to say to the people that tell others to not take this medication that you are SEVERELY impacting how others may get treatment. Go to a psychiatrist that will truly evaluate your situation and if this medication doesn't work then keep trying until something does. I would be dead now if my doctor hadn't put me on lexapro. The side effects are well worth being alive today! They were never severe enough for me to quit taking this medication. Also, it takes two weeks for lexapro to build up in your system so you need to give it time. I am just so irritated by people who use there scare tactics so that someone else won't use a particular medication. Its that attitude that keeps others from getting the help THEY NEED! Every medication has SIDE EFFECTS! Aspirin HAS SIDE EFFECTS!!!! So please weigh the good with the bad before just reading these comments and getting so scared that you lock yourself in your house and dont get the help you need...

I take it at 6:30 am before leaving for work and 6:30 pm in the evening. I only notice a "high" feeling in the mornings and it passes in a few hours. Have gained about 5 pounds in five weeks and my ankles are swollen. I have seen a noticeable hair loss but I didn't see that side effect in the Lyrica documentation so I didn't connect it to Lyrica. This drug has almost completely stopped the burning pain from the pudendal nerve. The benefits far outweigh the side effects for me--at least for right now.

This drug should be banned, it causes more problems than it solves.I had dizzy spaced out feelings and completely lost the use of my legs & had no control of urination within hours.I developed Asthma with a full blown attack within hours.I got worsening cramps throughout my entire colon which became so ulcerated I was unable to sit down by day four.I had worsening diarrhoea by day four. This caused Liver Function Tests to go off the charts.Bilirubin leaked into my urine. This caused Kidney inflammation and Infection, with urine infection. Now on more antibiotics for the Kidney infection this drug caused. The Liver damage may be permanent.Don't take it!Go back to your Dr and demand something else!

Bad taste in my mouth but it was worth it

I have only been taking Prilosec OTC one day but this dull headache appeared after only 6 hrs on this medication. The headache is driving me a little crazy but that awful gnawing and burning sensation in the upper left quadrant of my body has pretty much disappeared. I talked to my pharmacist today and told him my symptoms and that Zantac 150mg was not helping and he suggested Prilosec OTC. Just hope the headache doesn't hang around.

I haven't started taking Prolia yet but that is what is suggested to me. I have taken Evista with very minor side affects - mild hot flashes. After reading 18 reviews where only 2 reviews appearered ok I don't think I will be taking Prolia.

I have used Ortho & Ortho Lo. Both have worked for me and I would recommend both. My gyno actually used some type of test to figure out which BC to start me on.
