Side Effects for Zyflo cr (zileuton)
It makes my stomach feel sour up to two hours after taking it. It makes my breathing much easier in my lungs and through my nose. I take doseage with food and water.
I was prescribe by my doctor to take two tablets twice daily, however I don't feel comfortable taking this much, so I only take two tablets once daily instead, I still feel great improvement.
ZYFLO CR (ZILEUTON): Zileuton is used to control and prevent symptoms (such as wheezing and shortness of breath) caused by asthma. Controlling symptoms of asthma helps you maintain your normal activities and cuts down on time lost from work or school. This medication must be used regularly to be effective. It does not work right away and should not be used to relieve sudden asthma attacks. If an asthma attack occurs, use your quick-relief inhaler (such as albuterol, salbutamol) as prescribed. This has been the best thing ever! I take it continuously and have been on it for almost three years. I actually take the generic (Quasense). I spotted almost continuously for the first three months but that was better than the painful cycles I used to have. After the first three months, the spotting went away and it has been excellent ever since. I have had elevated triglycerides (makes my cholesterol count higher) but that's a side effect I seem to get with all birth control pills I've been on. No longer needing tampons and maxis is great! Not having severe cramping and bleeding each month is a lifesaver.
This drug should be taken off the market. I warn everyone I know to ask for something else if ever prescribed this. I live in fear now.
Percocet gave me effective pain relief, gave me energy, was talkative, relaxed..at first. Now I am irritable, tired, constipated have no energy and the perscribed dose doesnt work anyore. I have to take them twice as often. Not to mention they are extremely addicting. I had to take myself off them for a while and I was so itchy, anxious, depressed, had twiching nerves, could not sleep. It was a horrible feeling. I recently had to start taking them again and I am up to between 10-12 doses a day. I am dreading trying to get off of them again
I took it because I had a TIA 10yrs ago. Hasn't done anything for my BP in all this time. Feels like I'm slowly losing my quality of life as I was very active before. Struggle greatly to run my business.
At first it wasn't great, vomiting and to be followed a few week later by the worst heartburn imaginable, however weight is coming off.The only thing that's VERY hard to deal with is my near non existent energy levels :(I normally work a 16 hour day, weekends full with young kids and now I find myself hitting a wall at 3pm, constantly tired.
This worked well and cleared up my acne. A little on the expensive side.

This in the only drug that stopped my my severe heartburn and reflux. Tried nexium, protonix, etc. - FYI, the GENERIC DID NOT WORK as well as the brand Prevacid! If you have very bad heartburn and GERD, you might want to avoid the generic! Generic gave me breakthrough heartburn. I'm fine with the BRAND.
Not sure the benefits outweigh the effects that this drug causes.
