This antibiotic is horrible. While on it I started getting ringing in my ears as well as really bad dizziness. I completed 1 more day as it got worse as well as I started having severe anxiety and pins and needles all over. Tbe ringing in my ears increased even more on day three. I stopped but I know have severe hyperacusus...ringing as well as burning all over my body along with stabbing shooting nerve psin. I feel like I am in Hell. I thought amixicillin was fine as I had taken it before but it must be the clavulenic acid that is added. I am afraid I have permanent hearing and nerve damage as its been 8 days since I stoppedI am so scared. Do not take this medication.
Since I found later that vision problems were listed as a side effect, I have great concern that my doctor, who was aware of my vision problems, prescribed this drug.
I'm taking it to help wane kidney disease for type 1 diabetes. I was started on the 300 mg, but wonder if 150 wouldn't be enough because for me it's only a preventitive measure.
I was worried about taking this pill after reading other comments, but I have been very happy. I switched to Desogen from Ortho Cyclen due to spotting every month that was getting worse. So far, I have not had any spotting on Desogen, my skin has been clearing up, and my periods are much shorter (only 2.5 days as opposed to 5-8 before).
initially drowsy, but went away fast. no other side effects noted. seems to have leveled off, so my doctors are playing with my other medicines to give me some control. I also take abilify for mood stabilizing, and elavil for headache control(no longer seems to be working)
I took Ortho for about 5 years, and switched to Ovcon because I was having spotting on my other pill. I am on my second month and have spotted regularly...almost daily. I didn't have a perios the first month. I've gained weight and acne has increased. Hopefully it will get better with time!

I have only taken one pill and experience several vivid dreams the first two I just thought were weird. The third was horrible and I went through the whole death of my daughter waking up shaking and in tears!! I plan to stay up the rest of the night and speak with Dr immediately. My infection is bad so need something.
Insomina, I do not think I ever got to sleep. I will deal with the allergies instead!!
