Vimovo (esomeprazole magnesium; naproxen) Side Effects, Uses Dosages

Side Effects for Vimovo (esomeprazole magnesium; naproxen)

Since Naprelan was discontinued, a drug that worked well and I took for years, Vimovo was the closet replacement. It's a time released drug that spares your stomach. It didn't work as well as Naprelan and caused blurry and double vision.

VIMOVO (ESOMEPRAZOLE MAGNESIUM; NAPROXEN): This medication is used to treat the signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis when there is a high risk for stomach bleeding/ulcer. This product contains 2 medications: esomeprazole and naproxen. This product should not be used to relieve sudden pain. The naproxen starts to work slower than other naproxen products because of a special coating (delayed-release). If you are treating a chronic condition such as arthritis, ask your doctor about non-drug treatments and/or using other medications to treat your pain. See also Warning section. Naproxen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It reduces pain, swelling, and joint stiffness. Naproxen can cause stomach ulcers, especially in patients with a history of stomach ulcers. Esomeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that blocks acid production in the stomach. This combination provides the benefits of naproxen and may reduce the risk of ulcers or bleeding that can occur with naproxen use. (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)

No real significant benefit evident. Hard to swallow even when dissolved to granules.

Definitly glad I took this even though of the side effects. I would much rather deal with these crazy side effects than have the horrible bowel infection come back.

Nausea and start feeling high, I was happy then I was crying for no reason, I start vomiting blood, worst experience ever.

Agree with review 6. Severe headache and lethargy. Stopped yesterday and gradually feeling better.

panic attacks, PTSD, night terrors

I'm going to try Yaz. Look it up ladies!! "Yaz"

I do not recommend this at all.

I suffered from migranes every other day for about a month. Dr put me on Topamax. It worked for a month or so, reducing the migranes to once a week and I lost weight, which was OK. Dr. changed to amitriptyline, and while I have a migrane maybe once a month now, i gained about 5-8 lbs. Overall it works for cutting back the frequency of migranes!

The joint pain/stiffness, weakness, fatigue, and being tired all the time started on the second day and keeps getting worse. The joint pain and fatigue is especially bad... hard to get out of bed & the simplest task is exhausting. The confusion, restlessness & anxiety at night, and stomach & chest pain started on the 6th day. The confusion is the worst as I'm having trouble concentrating & remembering things... it's very frustrating.I hate this medication and will be adding it be my list of allergies... though I'm not truely allergic to it. I'd love to replace it with another medication as I still have 4 days to go on, but that'd be hard to find as I have a many medication allergies/ sensitivities/negative reaction of some sort. I'll just suffer through it for 4 more days, but then I'll NEVER take it again! And, after looking at all the reviews on this site, I wouldn't recommend it for anyone else either.

I have taken Levaquin for 7 days for Bronchitis/Flu symptoms
