Side Effects for Videx ec (didanosine)

Neuropathy and general poisoned feeling

You don't need to ruin your life any more than it is.

VIDEX EC (DIDANOSINE): This drug is used with other HIV medications to help control HIV infection. It helps to decrease the amount of HIV in your body so your immune system can work better. This lowers your chance of getting HIV complications (such as new infections, cancer) and improves your quality of life. Didanosine belongs to a class of drugs known as nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors-NRTI. Didanosine is not a cure for HIV infection. To decrease your risk of spreading HIV disease to others, do all of the following: (1) continue to take all HIV medications exactly as prescribed by your doctor, (2) always use an effective barrier method (latex or polyurethane condoms/dental dams) during all sexual activity, and (3) do not share personal items (such as needles/syringes, toothbrushes, and razors) that may have contacted blood or other body fluids. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details. (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)

Cipro cleared up infection but has caused 13 MONTHS OF PAIN in every joint and muscle. Wouldn't wish this pain on my worst enemy.

Given in migraine cocktail at ER & in hospital. Made me feel on edge, anxious, and restless. Couldn't sit still. Have doctor give you another dose of Benadryl- it will help. For the migraine cocktail, it's easier this or compazine which was like this but 100x worse. Didn't help my migraine.

Has ruined both mine and my mother's lives.

if i don't sleep for long enough, confusion, incooridiation, and sleepiness for about an hour or so in the morning. also each time i have increased my dose (started at 4, gone up to 6, now at 8) i have had slight jerking twitches while laying in bed. I take 8 mg at bedtime along with lunesta.

25 mg Consta shots, disconnect from reality, cognitive functioning greatly reduced, weight gain, hard to communicate like normal, always moving my legs at night, overall mentally and physically very tired.

intense burning, stinging, itching where applied

Some restlessness during the night. First night woke up several times and had some trouble getting back to sleep. Second night woke up less times during the night and fell back asleep easier. Did have some night sweats. Was very groggy in the morning after the first night and somewhat out of it. Second night I made sure to sleep longer (10 hrs) and felt much better, less groggy. After half a can of red bull felt great! Did have severe headache on first day. Feel less hungry in general. Some dry mouth, I just drink more water :)

I had been taking prilosec for the last 2 years. I originally got the acid reflux from chewing tobacco. Completely healthy my whole life and had nothing wrong besides my accurance of GERD being diagnosed 2 years ago. I went on prilosec and IT WAS CURED!!! I didn't have to chew tums or eat Zantacs every other day anymore. About 6 months after taking it, I experienced a racing heart beat one day for about 10 minutes. It went away and I thought nothing more of it. Well, I've had this happen to me 10 other occasions in the past 2 years. Everytime I went to the doc and they would do tests on my heart. Countless EKG's, stress test on treadmill at my cardiologist, ECG's, Xrays of my heart, thyroid tests, etc... Every test!!!! I might be leaving out. Couple. Well I went to my cardiologist 2 days ago and I had high BP. 138/91! I'm 27 years old!!!! No family history of high BP or heart problems. I have finally kicked the drug and some symptoms have started to fade. I'll go back to a life of tums and eating right. Heartburn has nothing on the hell I've been going through. Please DO NOT TAKE this poison!!!!! Just change your diet and make some sacrifices on spices. Drink lots of water and stay away from things with a lot acidic acid. I promise you, if you're not experiencing anything now, YOU WILL! Don't hurt yourself anymore....

Sore arm, fever, chills, shaking uncontrollably, fatigue, severe headache. I've had shingles before and I'm not convinced this is better or worth it.Side effects are much worse than the Covid vaccine.

This drug made me very, very ill. Mental confusion, auditory/visual hallucinations, disturbed coordination. anxiety that was OUT of CONTROL!!!Paranoia, panic attacks, irritability, blurred vision, headache, fatigue, severe dizziness, severe mental confusion and memory loss, mood & mental changes, and I'm sure there are a few I left out. I thought I was losing my mind while taking this med! I thought all these things were a result of withdrawing from Klonopin, but once I looked up the side effects of this medication, I was absolutely stunned that all of this could come from what is peddled as "antihistamine". Never, ever again. ALWAYS CHECK YOUR SIDE EFFECTS BEFORE TAKING ANY NEW MED. I don't care if "most people" don't have "severe side effects" or not - YOU could be the one that is NOT included in the group that doesn't!
