Varubi (rolapitant hydrochloride) Side Effects, Uses Dosages

Side Effects for Varubi (rolapitant hydrochloride)

This is a new drug for delayed nausea and vomiting from chemo. My insurance made me switch from Emend to this. I have found that although i am a bit more sick on this my mind is clearer and my nausea only lasts for 4 days instead of 6 on Emend. If you have problems finding anti-emetics that work I would give this a try.

VARUBI (ROLAPITANT HYDROCHLORIDE): Rolapitant is used with other medications to help prevent delayed nausea and vomiting caused by cancer drug treatment (chemotherapy). It works by blocking one of the body's natural substances (substance P/neurokinin 1) that causes vomiting. (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)

Withdrawal from this drug is ridiculous. Over 4 months has past since taking my last dose and still experiencing a ton of symptoms. And I was only on .5mg. I thought since I was on a low dose, I wasn't too dependant and I'd be safe once w/drawing but no such luck. For anyone coming to this site thinking about wether they should take this or not, I would highly suggest you don't unless you want to deal w/ w/drawl that seems endless. Your initial problems will become 10x worse, along w/ a host of other issues.. This is much worse then getting off opiates!

Cymbalta has improved my life in so many ways...I used to be an emotional wreck at work but now...I can handle massive amounts of stress. I LOVE it!

Some sleepiness and fatigue, but that could also be from having chronic migraine itself.

The first two days I had the headache. The third day I had severe abdominal pain. Now I feel anxious and just don't care if I ever eat again. I am now concerened for my 12 year old son. I may think twice before putting him on any medication! I will wait to see what my doctor says. I am confident in his decision. The doctor's wife and son are taking medication for ADHD. I know he will watch me closely and do what is best for me. This is what keeps me going.

Had fusion surgery at C4,5,6. Bad disk at L5, and bad disk at mid back area. Have leg and foot pain from nerve dammage. Also lots of arthritis in my back. I am going to be evaluated for further back surgery. My Dr. switched me to Duragesic patch, but it was a nightmare expierience. I got sick from the side effects. Especially severe anxiety. Was on Duragesic for two months. Now back on 4 daily Vicodin ES. I wish I could just stay on it forever, as it is very effective pain relief for me, with a min. of side effects. Still able to work, mostly pain free. I am an Electrician. Doubt if I could keep working without some pain relief. Dr. says Vicodin not for long term pain relief however.

This all started 1 year ago when I had my gall bladder removed. I haven't felt the same since. If anyone has experienced any symptoms like I explained from having their gall bladder removed please feel free to email me.
