Side Effects for Vandazole (metronidazole)
Nausea, severe heatburn, severe fatigue, abdominal distention, backache, appetite changes, intermittent anxiety, poor sleep due to side effects making me feel so ill in addition to unusual anxiety, liver function tests (ALT, AST, alkaline phosphatase) elevated out of normal range. My alkaline phosphatase was so elevated (249 with normal range of 40-150) that my MD ordered an abdominal ultrasound as he suspected liver or gallbaldder disease. My ultrasound was normal and it was determined that elevated levels were due to the metronidazole (flagyl). That is how hard the drug was on my system.
I made it thorugh day 8 of 10 day course and returned to the doctor because of how bad the combined side effects were making me feel. He took me off of the metronidazole. The c. diff diarrhea returned and I was placed on oral vancomycin. Day 8 of the vanco. I feel much better as the vanco has not given me any side effects to speak of. After stopping the metronidazole I was searching the web for side effects of the drug and came across this website. I was stunned to see how many people had the same or a very similar group of side effects, particularly several that mentioned the anxiety. I think the doctor did not believe me that I felt the drug was causing the anxiety spells. I honestly felt as if I were poisoning myself the more doses I forced myself to take. This drug may work but for at least a very significant portion of patients it has very, very harsh side effects.

Hopefully I will only have to take this for a week to cure the Herpes infection in my eye. I somehow transferred herpes from my lip to my eye about 7 years ago. This is my 4th outbreak in my eye - brought on by stress but other triggers have been : sunburn on my eye from skiing, taking out contact too fast (tearing cornea), etc. I've found that taking vicodin for the eye nerve pain and headaches helps. I am working from home as the virus is contagious. Am set to take Valtrex another 2 days for a grand total of a week only I hope!
BEEN ON THIS FOR OVER A DECADE. IT HELPED MY DEPRESSION AND INCREASED MY APPETITE. BUT NO APPETITE WAS ONE OF MY PTSD SYMPTOMS. BIGGEST NEGATIVE IS VIRTIGO, BRAIN ZAPS WHEN I TURN MY HEAD QUICKLY. ESPECIALLY WHEN I FIRST STARTED. NOW IF I MISS A DOSE I KNOW WITHIN HOURS BECAUSE THE VIRTIGO STARTS AS A WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOM. NO LIBIDO ALSO IS A PROBLEM

Sleepiness is the only one really. Small weight gain, not much.
I had sinusitis on the right side of my face with severe jaw pain and thick yellow greenish drainage. Three days after taking Augmentin,I developed mild odorless diarrhea 3-4 times daily. No cramps then, just diarrhea. The sinus pain and mucus left,but I developed facial numbness on that side, which I still have.I finished the 10 day dose on Monday. By Thursday I had unbearable stomach cramps, with light colored semi-solid feces that contained undigested food. I have never seen my feces look like this. I started having 15-25 small strange looking & strange smelling BM'S/day. I would have a BM after eating or drinking anything. A sip of water or even chewing gum. The cramps felt like I was going to have an enormous dump or diarrhea. The cramps had me bent over almost in tears. A week has passed and I am still having after effects from Augmentin. From this point on my Dr will have to prescribe a different antibiotic. The cramps were more painful than the jaw pain caused by the sinus infection. I am currently taking Prilosec,Dicyclomine, Probiotics,and Immodium/Dr. To me it's just not worth taking.

sore throat. losing voice..but it absolutely is working along with the singulair,i have reduced the amount of times I am using the rescue unit.
feeling stupid, can't find right words, stuttering, tingling, muscle twitches,dizziness, tired all the time....should i continue?
