Side Effects for Valsartan (valsartan)

Pins and Needles in Feet and hands, neuropathy

Started on 80mg, upped to 160mg. My PCP said the pins and needles may have been caused by neuropathy and were not related to Valsartan. Doctors have confirmed neuropathy. However I have since found online reviews that confirm pins & needle feeling in legs and hands with Valsartan. When I first started taking it my large toenails started growing horizontally and becoming wider, to the point my toes would bleed next to the nail. I briefly switched off valsartan and the pins and needles persisted (perm. damage). Since going back on it and upping the dose, my toenails have started to bleed again, and another doctor has said I have the start of neuropathy. Avoid this med if you can.

Nausea, confusion, dizziness, even on a minimal dose. Side effect last for days after stopping.

When combined with Lasix, it made me so dizzy I fell and injured my hand.

I've never had a problem, but recently I developed a rash on face and legs. I remembered that the manufacturer changed on the last refill. This one was by Dr. Reddy. Has anyone else had a reaction to the new maker? The old tablets were red oblong and the new ones are red and round.

Am on other medicines but switched from losartan to to valsartan. Noticed symptoms coming on but got wrist needed to go to the ER 6 days in to taking medsExtreme gas and chest pressure/fullness throughout the day but especially after eatingJitterinessHeart palpitationsRacing heartAnxietyRacing thoughtsRefluxFight or flightFrequent bowel movementsFrequent urination

Constant nausea. Tiredness and fatigued. Pins and needles of hands.

The worst anxiety I ever had, heart palpulatations.tingling in fingers Did lower bp.but at what cost when you do not hardly want to leave your home.So stressed out over this!

Took Diovan 80mg for about 7 years then went to 160 mg .That was not so bad. Was switched to Valstaran and now I am really getting anxiety, irregular heart beats and wound up in the er last week.Thank goodness blood work and ekg did check out ok.I could cry and I have to have my doctor get me off this!!!. The last prescription was the worst.Different manufacture, may have different inactive ingredients in.I just want to be normal again.

Anxiety, panic attacks, muscle ache in legs, blurred vision, one ear gets plugged up frequently, puffiness around eyes.

VALSARTAN (VALSARTAN): Valsartan is used to treat high blood pressure and heart failure. It is also used to improve the chance of living longer after a heart attack. In people with heart failure, it may also lower the chance of having to go to the hospital for heart failure. Valsartan belongs to a class of drugs called angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs). It works by relaxing blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily. Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. my pill comes in 100mg. i was taking 2 pills a day. since the pill is not time released when it kicks in i definately feel it. i had to cut down to half a pill at a time. i couldn't function when the side effects set it. my eyelids got heavy. i would get tired. it was hard to focus on anything unless i was looking dead straight. if i looked up or to the side my eyes felt really strained and vision would be off. i would feel a little unbalanced. lights were brighter and left trails. i felt like i had too many drinks. even taking 4 half pills a day i still have the occasional extra beat and slight side effects but nothing that prevents me from a normal day. flecainide did help control the beats compared to what they were. i still hope to be off this pill some day.

Took Generic Lotrel for 2 months. It did lower my blood pressure, but caused horrible hip/leg/knee pain. I stopped taking it 1 month ago, but the leg pain still persists. I am unable to sit for longer than 10 minutes without pain.

I am an active, athletic person who became crippled by this. My gp had no idea, nor did the knee specialist that I consulted. I have since developed a knee problem (torn cartilege on femur, edema in bone), and will have surgery but cannot definitely link it to the drug reaction as symptoms seemed to abate entirely for a few weeks after withdrawal from the drug. I think this medicine is overprescribed and dangerous. I took the once weekly dose exactly as prescribed for 4 weeks.

Hair loss, nightmares, blackouts, irrational thoughts

IT IS A DRUG FROM THE PIT OF HELL!

It's wonderful, I wouldn't be able to have children with out it

I know I just started the drug but I do feel much more stable moodwise. I am hoping the side effects subside soon and that this will finally be a drug that works more than a month

If I had been made aware of the possible side effects of this toxic drug I would never had applied it., particularly as, in my case, it was probably not necessary. My doctor has some explaining to do. I hope I can recover from the toxic effects anxiety and fatigue soon.
