Urecholine (bethanechol chloride) Side Effects, Uses Dosages

Side Effects for Urecholine (bethanechol chloride)

Extreme thirst at times, fatigue, very frequent urination (maybe a symptom of the nerve injury), sometimes it doesn't seem to work as well as others -- seems to depend on how irritated the damaged spinal nerve involved is and/or maybe how much pressure there is on the nerve and or bladder. Symptoms generally get worse around my menses.

I get this medication from the local Costco Pharmacy, which serves a huge number of people, and was amazed to learn that I'm the only customer taking it regularly. I take 10 mg 4x a day. I would love not to need this medication, but without it apparently my bladder does not empty completely. I started taking it after having hardware from a failed lumbar fusion removed. That's when I developed the symptoms, which are very uncomfortable.

Helped for a few months. Worried it's stopped working.

URECHOLINE (BETHANECHOL CHLORIDE): This medication is used to treat certain bladder problems such as the inability to urinate or empty the bladder completely due to certain causes (e.g., surgery, bladder muscle problems). It works by helping the bladder muscle to squeeze better, thereby improving your ability to urinate. (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)

Wrecked my body, demolished my sanity, ruined my life. My skin is covered in blisters, thyroid shot to hell, 100 extra pounds to carry around. It's been four years since I last took Flexeril but I fear the effects are permanent. I am now 23 years old with no hope of a healthy future. Don't take this drug. And seriously, STOP SELLING POISON TO TEENAGERS!

severe mood swings, violent behaviour and depression.

Horrible! Made me sick to the point I had bronchitis, I never coughed

Dr. said this drug is the "flagship" for treating enlarged prostate symptoms. The sex related side effects are unacceptable for me.

Worry about the long term side effects of an NSAid drug.

weight loss; worked great at first at 200mg. but, now it seems not as effective. Have been on provigil 2 years now. Love it, but I can still fall directly to sleep turning on the TV

It does help the pain - it has been effective in that manner. It is also a great mood stabilizer. But proceed with caution. Only take this if you must and for chronic pain - go with Vicodin or Norco (less Acetaminophen) for short acute pain problems.

I had very severe withdrawl symptoms when discontinuing Effexor. Be careful and don't do it on your own - my dr. gave me a few doses of Prozac which helped me get off the Effexor.

my daughter had taken Singular for several years and we loved the results. .. she rarely needed albuterol anymore. Her pediatrician wanted her to take it daily, year-round. We only gave it to her seasonally, as I didn't want her to take something she didn't need. During the same period of time, she was diagnosed with central precocious puberty. I blamed the mood swings on the monthly Lupron injections. Because of insurance issues, I stopped giving her the Singular, as needed. Shortly after we stopped the Singular (Lupron was still monthly) we heard about the reported side effects of Singular. I realized that she was probably experiencing side-effects from the Singular, not the Lupron. She is still on monthly Lupron injections, no Singular for over 1 year, and NO regular outbursts, emotional meltdowns, etc.

The stomach cramps are really bad going to stop taking this pill. Not right for me at all.
