Uceris (budesonide) Side Effects, Uses Dosages

Side Effects for Uceris (budesonide)

The first 1-2 doses caused some nausea, and side effects similar to oral systemic steroids. After that there are no side affects other than increased appetite.

This is an incredible medicine just plain amazing but it is still very expensive. It works in the colon. It is superior to entocort but it will not work in the small bowel while entocort will. Sadly such few doctors prescribe it and even fewer pharmacies keep it in stock. I always have to ask for it.

Zero side effects. Within days of taking UCERIS my stools become more formed, had less visits to the bathroom and cramping stopped. UCERIS did not stop my flare completely, but it definitely helped. After dealing with prednisone in the past, UCERIS is amazing.

The only negative about UCERIS is the price! If my GI didn't give me 2 months worth of samples I wouldn't be able to afford this medicine. It would have been $1,000/mo with my insurance and the discount card provided by my GI - ridiculous!

UCERIS (BUDESONIDE): This medication is used to treat certain bowel conditions (such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis). While budesonide does not cure these conditions, it may decrease symptoms such as pain and diarrhea. Budesonide is an anti-inflammatory drug (corticosteroid hormone). It works by decreasing the body's natural defense response (immune response). (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)

Fatigue, neck and shoulder tension, light sensitivity, hot flashes, "hot spots" on my face, neck and arms that turn red and itch, depression, lack of motivation, lack of interest in my favorite activities, increase in sinus symptoms associated with allergies, plugged up ears that crackle and pop, headaches, serious weight gain, thinning hair.

Needless to say I've stopped taking this drug. For Insomnia it work extremely well. But the side effect was a deal breaker.

what the hell is this...my heart felt out of rhythm and my head was pounding..i felt completely out of it and i never have gotten side effects like that..i have only taken 5 pills of 250mg...its now midnight and last dosage was 8, i feel better, but still the whole day felt like arse..callin doc in morning

horrible pain in my stomach.. feels like hunger but I can't eat, headache .. bloating and gas ...

I have had "sun spots" in my vision for about 1 1/2 months. I've been off Lyrica for almost a week, my vision hasn't improved and I'm sick with nausea. Was feeling the Fibro fog - couldn't find simple and known words while trying to communicate. Really helped with pain from fibromyalgia, but the side effects just aren't worth it! I'm currently seeing a chiropractor, and hoping the adjustments will help with the pain, so I can be drug free.

I had weight gain, serious increase in appitite, terrible mood swings and irritibility, insomnia, headaches, and acne. It worked well for my pain but I began bleeding yesterday and have decided that the bad more then out weighs the good for me. I will be stopping medication as of today.

removal of thrombosed hemorrhoid

I love it. Initially started taking it for smoking cessation and it works. Just lately have noticed increased heart beats in the evenings. Have continued taking Wellbutrin for mild depression. My dosage from beginning to now: 150 mg in the morning - that's it. Have felt no need to have dosage increased. I sleep great, eat more (I needed that but now I've gained what I needed to gain and it keeps climbing up!), normal dreams, normal mood, increased desire to be social again.

I've only been taking Rexulti for a couple of weeks, started on 1/2 mg. and now at 1 mg. I think I've got a bit more energy, but I seem to get irritated a little easier. I'm not taking any crap from anyone lately. Maybe that's a good thing. I am also taking Prozac and Adderall. I've taken nearly every SSRI/SNRI/atypical AD that's out there, along with some other meds off-label for depression. Nothing has worked, mostly because of intolerable side effects.I do feel a bit more energetic and positive. I'm hoping it continues. The only drawback is the cost. Horrendously expensive.I plan on updating this review as time goes on.
