Haven't had any side effects for taking Truvada as PrEP. HIV negative and so thankful for this drug.

Severe Osteo ain't just for old ladies anymore! HIV meds are just plain toxic and I quit all those meds due to side effects after being tortured into my current physical helplessness since 1996. The pharm. corps are just plain greedy and evil. I wish I never took this drug even if you believe it means I would be dead now. This is not a life, and truvada/viread just give you more problems that never go away.

TRUVADA (EMTRICITABINE; TENOFOVIR DISOPROXIL FUMARATE): This product is used with other HIV medications to help control HIV infection. It helps to decrease the amount of HIV in your body so your immune system can work better. This lowers your chance of getting HIV complications (such as new infections, cancer) and improves your quality of life. This product is a combination of two different drugs: emtricitabine and tenofovir. Emtricitabine is called a nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor, while tenofovir is called a nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitor. They are often called NRTIs. This product should not be used by itself to help control HIV infection. Doing so can make your treatment less effective. Combination treatment with at least one other HIV medication should be used. This product is also approved in the US to help prevent HIV infection in people who have a high risk for infection. Some things that increase risk include having a partner infected with HIV, having unprotected sex, having multiple sex partners, infection with a sexually transmitted disease-STD, or use/abuse of drugs or alcohol. Emtricitabine/tenofovir is not a cure for HIV infection. Also, it will not always prevent HIV infection. To help prevent becoming infected with HIV and to decrease your risk of spreading HIV disease to others, do all of the following: (1) continue to take all HIV medications exactly as prescribed by your doctor, (2) always use an effective barrier method (latex or polyurethane condoms/dental dams) during all sexual activity, and (3) do not share personal items (such as needles/syringes, toothbrushes, and razors) that may have contacted blood or other body fluids. Sleepiness, dizziness, memory loss.
Had a little trouble with waking alert in the middle of the night. Took it later at night and that fixed it. No negative effects. I usually get the bad effects of things, not one with this!!!
Anxiety, weight loss, joint pain, moodiness, fatigue
First 2 weeks I experienced memory losses and felt out of it the next day. It does not help with early morning awakenings. At least you get to fall asleep for 5 hours.
Read this site only after flushing pills down toilet - great information - now I know I am not the only one to experience a problem with this product.
it made me into a zombie state so had to take it only at night just before going to bed. Otherwise i have had no side effects from taking seroquel.
Lowered kidney function. My kidneys became unnormally "slow", which has led to other side effects. My kidneys don´t do there detoxification work, so I got a terrible reaction from another drug, a thiazid, i hardly survived. Now I get allergic reactions from all additives to food, like couloring, preservers etc
I started taking this drug to regulate breakthrough bleeding and it has done a wonderful job with that. However, I have gained at least 15 lbs. in the last year and I have worse skin now then I did as a teenager! I guess I would recommend it as a last resort pill. If you're taking it strictly for birth control reasons, try something else!
This medicine worked great while I was on it, it did what it was supposed to do, I had clear skin for about 3 months after it, but now my acne is back. I blame my genetics, not accutane. Accutane is a good drug for those that know what they're getting into. I guarantee I had much more negativity going on in my life than most users, and I never had issues with depression. If you sue any of the big Pharmas for your side effects, you're a pussy. Plain and Simple.
After this medication my delusions (I hope) and paranoia dissipated. No hallucinations, depression or suicidal ideation. Extremely tired and unmotivated to do even the most menial tasks throughout the day. So, basically, I'm a slug that sits in bed all day and watches the scenery of my bedroom wall. I will sleep for 12 hours at night with little disturbance. Wake up refreshed but that only lasts an hour or two. I also take a form of adderall xr, which has little effect overpowering the latuda as far as energy goes.
