TRIZIVIR (ABACAVIR SULFATE; LAMIVUDINE; ZIDOVUDINE): This product contains 3 drugs: abacavir, lamivudine, and zidovudine. It is used alone or with other HIV medications to help control HIV infection. It helps to decrease the amount of HIV in your body so your immune system can work better. This lowers your chance of getting HIV complications (such as new infections, cancer) and improves your quality of life. Abacavir, lamivudine, and zidovudine all belong to a class of drugs known as nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs). Abacavir/lamivudine/zidovudine is not a cure for HIV infection. To decrease your risk of spreading HIV disease to others, do all of the following: (1) continue to take all HIV medications exactly as prescribed by your doctor, (2) always use an effective barrier method (latex or polyurethane condoms/dental dams) during all sexual activity, and (3) do not share personal items (such as needles/syringes, toothbrushes, and razors) that may have contacted blood or other body fluids. Ok, so here's the good and unfortunately the bad of this medication. When I first took excessive migraine (2 tablets) it definitely knocked out my migraine headaches. I admit that my migraines come about once every three weeks and are relatively mild (compared to some that I've heard of) however are still debilitating. Loss of concentration headaches, extreme sensitivity to light, etc) So I thought I had found a magic solution to these as the excedrine was quite effective for keeping the massive headache part at bay. However, over a few short months I have started having vicious stomach problems. Sharp shooting pains, bloating gassiness, diarrhea. This last for at least three or four days after taking the medication and has gotten progressively worse each time I take the pills. The latest bout has been so brutal that I would actually prefer the migraine to the stomach pain. Both are horrible and debilitating but the stomach pain is truly scary and the headaches go away after 24 hours. I can't recommend excedrine unless you have stomach of steel. I wish I could.
Dry mouth, insomnia, loss of appetite(great if your trying to lose weight), Aches, rise in self-confidence, focusing on wrong things at times. Ive also had the urge to write/type...? Whether copying things down, taking notes in class, or writing song lyrics.
I took this 18 years ago for a month or two for panic attacks and tapered off with no problems. Last winter a series of panic attacks occurred for the 1st time since '96.. so I asked the Dr. to prescribe these. After about 3 months, serious insomnia, anxiety kicked in. Finally tapered off this drug and back to normal. Works to stop panic, but not a long term solution for me.
For over a year I've had terrible unrelenting chills; nausea especially at night. I never correlated the chills with Excedrin as I have auto immune issues. Was off Excedrin for a couple of weeks and the chills subsided. Took one a couple of hours ago and just woke up with shaking chills. I'm so disappointed because the Excedrin really knocks out my migraines.
Easily angered, easily frustrated, horrible temper tantrums, PM restlessness, Bed wetting nightly, paranoid behavior, either loves something or more often HATES something - no middle ground ever
This is an evil drug. My friend had similar side effects last month while being on the same dosage. She had to go the the ER and was put on steroids. DO NOT TAKE THIS MED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.
Chest pain like a major panic attack
Took this evil drug for the first time yesterday morning. By afternoon, I developed severe back pain. I cannot bend down and it pains to even walk. I am missing an important appointment this afternoon. Just thinking about getting in and out of my car is painful. I am going to be more diligent about taking my calcium & vit D3. I have always been healthy, eat right & exercise. I will not take this drug or any "bone building" drug. To be honest, I think all drugs are harmful.
I started taking this drug for paranoia, and anxiety. I didn't notice at first, but I began to have extreme mood swings, and extremely intense emotions. I am a moderate drinker as well, mixed with alcohol, this medicine is deadly. I sliced through my arm with a knife, spent 2 nights in the hospital because I was freaking out. I was diagnosed with "excessive drinking", but I only had a few drinks! It almost ruined my life, and I'm I found the culprit in time, before it took my life.
I love this pill, I haven't had any side effects and my period is normal. I really recommend this pill as a birth control method 😄👍
