Side Effects for Toujeo solostar (insulin glargine recombinant)

I have had difficulty achieving stable glucose on Toujeo when compared with long term use of Lantus. I have had very high morning readings but can still get hypos between 3-5am which was supposed to be fixed by Toujeo. I am going back onto the Lantus equivalent .

I like Toujeo. My blood sugar is much more stable and the highs and lows are easier to correct. The only downside is the price. It's almost $500. a box which is about a one month supply.

I seem to have difficulty maintaining my proper glucose levels with Toujeo. Its supposed to be better and longer acting than Lantus, I had no trouble maintaining glucose levels with Lantus. As soon as I get rid of the Toujeo I have, I am returning to Lantus

high blood sugar readings, swollen ankles

My BS reading were significantly higher with once a day Trujeo despite eating the same foods and taking the same amount of insulin with each meal as beforel

TOUJEO SOLOSTAR (INSULIN GLARGINE RECOMBINANT): Insulin glargine is used with a proper diet and exercise program to control high blood sugar in people with diabetes. Controlling high blood sugar helps prevent kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems, loss of limbs, and sexual function problems. Proper control of diabetes may also lessen your risk of a heart attack or stroke. Insulin glargine is a man-made product that is similar to human insulin. It replaces the insulin that your body would normally make. It acts longer than regular insulin, providing a low, steady level of insulin. It works by helping blood sugar (glucose) get into cells so your body can use it for energy. Insulin glargine may be used with a shorter-acting insulin product. It may also be used alone or with other diabetes drugs. (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)

I have the most horrible uncomfortable feeling i cant sit in places i found to be my sanctuary. Anxiety and depression has not gotten any better.

some thinning of hair, acne on face, initial fatigue but not anymore

My symptoms before taking this medicine were so severe that I was existing on an average of 2 1/2 hours sleep a night. I was barely able to function. My symptoms started about noon and continued throughout the day and night. Mirapex controlled the symptoms and seemed like a miracle at first but now, I'm looking for an alternative as I am spending money like there's no end to it, unable to stay asleep, exhibiting OCD tendencies, short term memory loss, disorientation, slacking responsibilities, and having fits of rage and/or crying that I can't control. I guess the miracle is over.

I'm only on 5mg. So far there's been no change since on coumadin. I see my Cardio MD every 6 months.

First dose at noon, It tastes terrible but used a straw and roughed it out and sucked it all in within a few minutes, followed it with the two 16 once glasses of water, drank a glass of ginger ale that tasted terrible this was a first, drank a can of chicken broth, and drank some glasses of water, at 6PM took the second dose in the same way as the first not fun but had to finish it. I was running to the toilet until 12:30AM. the color was almost clear coming out of me. Colonoscopy was at 10AM ;my Dr. recommended a repeat colonospy in 3 years a the bowel prep was suboptimal. I am writing this the day after and I still have the muscle pain, and occasional light headed feeling. Dr. sent me for a blood work up to check my liver and kidneys this morning. I will never take this again, I have had several colonoscopy's over the years using the Miralax and mixing it with gaterade and never a problem or side effects. This prep needs to be investigated from all that I have read on this site it could be hazardous to ones health. By the way insurance doesn't cover so expect to spend over a hundred dollars for this Prep.

I LOVE TOPAMAX! I have gradually gotten up to 100mg twice a day. I take it with Cymbalta (60mg/day, which I have been on for 2 years). I had gained about 90 pounds through depression and binge eating and have already lost about 26 pounds in about a month in a half. I DO drink a ton of water to counteract dry mouth. I am sorry some people have such a bad reaction to this drug!

heart fluttering, heart out of chest, pounding, extreme fast heartbeat, chest pain, dizziness, fatigue, chest tightness, high blood pressure, almost fainting, thought I had heart attack, co workers thought to take me to emergency, waking up in the middle of the night with palpitations and tight chest, and jittery
