I've honestly not had any side effects. I was expecting to be tired after my loading dose and injections but I'm not. When I had my first loading dose I did have tingling in my bottom lip for about an hour, but that has been the only thing.
This drug has been a life saver for me. The doctors did not know what was going on and I lost over 50lbs. My mental health went down the toilet, but because I didn't have any history of IBD in my immediate or extended family all my “text book symptoms†were bypassed. It took one doctor to listen and he found the crohns. As soon as it was discovered I was sent to Northwestern Hospital in Chicago and now I have not of the best IBD team of doctors in the country. I was put on budesonide, as I'm allergic to prednisone, while we waited for insurance to approve my stelara. I know not every drug works for everyone, but this worked for my and truly was a life saver. Now, I also have IBS and that can be a pain, but as far as my Chrons, Stelara put me in remission. I was symptom free within 2 months.
tired, headache, nasaly and joint pain first couple days. The following week - extremely tired and chronic diarrhoea. Hoping side effects ease. Next dosage at 8 weekly intervals
try anything as I dont want steroids or to take tablets that make me sick everyday
Extreme Nausea, Vomiting, Fatigue, Depression, Diarrhea, Unable to sleep due to symptoms
This is the worst experience of side effects from a medication that I have ever had; the Dr insist the side effects will go away but after 4 mo I feel awful, my job is on the line due to missing work and I just keep sinking further into depression due to my life SUCKS!! STAY CLEAR OF THIS BIOLOGIC, IT'S NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE!!
Never felt so sick in my life - headaches hot all the time neuropathy hands feet face heart palpitations itchy extreme joint muscle pain bloating no improvement in Chrohns rather put up with flare ups than side effects - awful drug for me can't function so tired .
Much better off managing it myself !!!!
Loading dose. Have lost 4lbs in a week. No appetite. Itchy,severe headaches, nausea, dizzy, extreme fatigue. I was in shape playing tennis, now I can’t get off the sofa.
The side effects are taking too long to clear.

High BP and heart palpitations over all feeling unwell while on this medication. Just waiting for it to clear from my system.

Worsening asthma, upper respiratory infection, sinusitis, itching.
I was really hoping for better quality of life. The risks & sides effects are too much. I have seen no improvement at all.

I only took it because it was the last biologic possible and I wish I hadn't I've been miserable ever since and have to keep calling and visiting my PCP; because I keep having issues with my body I've never had before. I can't get my ears to stop ringing (driving me crazy). Unable to enjoy my daily activities now. All I want to do is sleep.
Caused severe Ulcerative Colitis-never had it before. Had to have my large intestine removed and my anus. Now have a permanent ileostomy.
Felt awful on Stelara. Physically and mentally unwell. No positive benefits for my Crohns.
After my IV loading dose my immune receptors caused a neurological problem causing such leg pain that i could not walk. This Tuesday(its now Thursday) i had my first injection and the next evening(Wednesday) my top lip went numb. The nurse said its an allergic reaction to take benadryl. Day of and two days following after injections i have to take allergy medication. Has not worked for me yet but ive been told it can take a few doses to work🤞

developed abscess & fistula while on this drug, and a rash, and hair loss, insomnia
Crohn's and reactive arthritis
I haven't experienced any side effects from this medication - touch wood - which is unusual for me as I've reacted to everything else I've been put on (Humira, Remicade, Methotrexate, etc.). I sometimes experience insomnia and mild headaches for the first week after injection (I inject every 12 weeks), but these clear up.
I'd rather not be taking anything, but since I've eventually relapsed everytime I've tried to go drug-free, Stelara works like a gem for me. And much more convenient only injecting every 12 weeks.
STELARA (USTEKINUMAB): Ustekinumab is used to treat plaque psoriasis, a certain type of arthritis (psoriatic arthritis), or a certain bowel condition (Crohn's disease). It works by blocking certain natural proteins in your body (interleukin-12 and interleukin-23) that cause inflammation (swelling) in these conditions. Ustekinumab does not cure these diseases, but helps to lessen symptoms of the disease. It can help to decrease the amount of plaques in plaque psoriasis, decrease the number of swollen/painful joints in psoriatic arthritis, and decrease symptoms such as abdominal pain/cramping and diarrhea in Crohn's disease. When I started I took 1 avapro in the morning. I noticed some hair loss. It wasn't until the doctor doubled the dose that I noticed the a lot of hair loss and also had a constant low grade headache that doesn't go away with medication. After seeing a dermatologist about the loss, he recommended switching meds. Hopefully that will resolve the problem.
Tamiflu made me very sick! 1 hr after taking this medication I was hugging the toilet as well. I'm a nurse and see many patients on this medication. This is a wonderful drug it just wasn't for me. On the patients that respond well to then it does work wonders in the length of time that they experience symptoms. It did well for my husband. He felt better in 2 days.
Joint pain & some swelling. One foot become very dark & bruised looking. I am in great health but have suffered with exaggerated joint pain for over 2 months.
Doctors and pharmacist, need more education regarding Restasis side effects!! Also there needs to be informationon labels and online site on all side effects!!!!
Nardil was my last hope after struggling with chronic fatigue and depression for years. I had lost my passion for life and couldn't find the energy to engage in daily activities. Thankfully, Nardil provided a much-needed boost. It revitalized my energy levels, improved my mood, and allowed me to reclaim my life from the clutches of depression.
I will never take this drug again.

I have never experienced breast tenderness and made the excuse it was because of my running and ignored the fact that I had been on this new birth control. I run anywhere from 1 mile to 9 miles. Although I am working out regularly I cannot lose the weight gain I have experienced. I have gained about 10 lbs and CANNOT get it off. I have gotten down to 147 only to weigh 153 the following day. I have experienced acne that I only experienced during my first pregnancy because my hormones were raging. I have also experienced stomach issues and some migraines.
