SETLAKIN (ETHINYL ESTRADIOL; LEVONORGESTREL): This combination hormone medication is used to prevent pregnancy. It contains 2 hormones: a progestin (levonorgestrel) and an estrogen (ethinyl estradiol). It works mainly by preventing the release of an egg (ovulation) during your menstrual cycle. It also makes vaginal fluid thicker to help prevent sperm from reaching an egg (fertilization) and changes the lining of the uterus (womb) to prevent attachment of a fertilized egg. If a fertilized egg does not attach to the uterus, it passes out of the body. Besides preventing pregnancy, birth control pills may make your periods more regular, decrease blood loss and painful periods, decrease your risk of ovarian cysts, and also treat acne. Took the 2 pills the first day at 11:30 am.. Just started feeling tired and weird like most meds.. But all day with this good feeling the crappy and so on back and fourth.. problem started when i went to sleep... I COULDN'T.. Mind was racing a mile a min and having vivied thoughts. Could not get comfortable for anything and my skin felt sensitive. Tossing and turning all night.. Body also started getting achy.. Woke up the next morning feeling like i just was in a car accident.. Body all stiff and could not turn my head to the right.. my neck was killing me.. Felt like i was in a club fight and everyone had a CLUB BUT ME..!! I'd rather deal with the infection.. I will not stay on for a second dose after reading the crazyness on this site..!!
12.5 mg daytime sleepyness, nightmares intensified, suicidal thoughts and actions, loss of libido, weight gain, sweats, nausea, increase in appetite, constipation with alternating diarrhea, shock sensation in legs, unstable moods, emotional numbness just sort of "blah" and blank.
I took it a few times and it gave me horrible fevers, tremors, and hallucinations for years. It nearly killed me.

I have been told by my doctor that I could change to Evista or Protos as I have had side effects from taking Actonal for the past 3-4 years.

The tachycardia and palpitations are not unusual side effects of this medication per my cardiologist. So many people who experience this are probably not hypochondriacs. I started out on 160mg of Diovan ( another ARB from another cardiologist) and ended up in the ER with same side effects only much, much worse than with the Benicar. I am a long time critical care RN so these problems are not a figment of my imagination. When I changed to Benicar, instead of starting out right away with 40mg, I started with 5mg and titrated it up over about 6 weeks, to the full dose. I also take HCTZ but I cannot take this at the same time as the Benicar, ( my experience with the first ARB the Diovan, was Diovan HCL the combo pill, which aside from the large starting out dose of that combined with the HCTZ was intolerable for my body.)I still get occasional palpitations with the Benicar, BUT only if I take the HCTZ too close to my dose of Benicar. I wait usually about 4 hrs to add the HCTZ.I sug
After three months my period was great! I was regular finally! I never gained any weight, I heard that birth control doesn't do that to you. When I switched to Tri Nessa I did't see a huge change. I switched after 8yrs being on Tri Cyclen to Tri nessa. Maybe my mood (cranky) nothing severe or abnormal. I recommend either birth control
I'm not positive that nasonex caused the dizziness, but it was bad enough I don't want to take the chance.
