Side Effects for Rizatriptan benzoate (rizatriptan benzoate)

had to take twice as much as I did with Maxalt - leaves gritty sandy substance in mouth - does not dissolve properly - nauseated; makes me gag

Aurobindo Pharmacy brand only - generic prescribed by Kaiser - takes 2 or more hours to work, unlike Maxalt which worked in 30 minutes or less.

RIZATRIPTAN BENZOATE (RIZATRIPTAN BENZOATE): Rizatriptan is used to treat migraines. It helps to relieve headache, pain, and other migraine symptoms (including nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light/sound). Prompt treatment helps you return to your normal routine and may decrease your need for other pain medications. Rizatriptan belongs to a class of drugs known as triptans. It affects a certain natural substance (serotonin) that causes narrowing of blood vessels in the brain. It may also relieve pain by affecting certain nerves in the brain. Rizatriptan does not prevent future migraines or lessen how often you get migraine attacks. (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)

I am not completed and suffered prior to this experience with mild anxiety disorder. I don't know whether to attribute all of this to lamisil or the anxiety, but it def seems to be worse on this emdicine than ever before. But here we go: headaches, dizziness, weird staticy feeling in my head, lightheaded, EXTREMELY tired, feelings of faintness but never fainted, hot flashes, terrible motivation.

prevent pregnancy/regulate period

Horrendous periods. Extremely heavy with huge blood clots. Initially had headaches and mood swings but this disappeared around 3mths.

Strange wooziness. Room moving and almost like I was about to pass out. Constant deep breaths trying to fill lungs that felt starved for air. Out of body/reality sensations. Insomnia.

I needed 4 100 mg pill to help me but Lyrica doesn't come in that mg.the 150 mg are too much at one time.

i hate this. i'm going back on ortho tri cyclen

dry mouth, constant need for fluids, complete loss of sex drive, loss of appetite until end of day then I eat non-stop, persistant almost obsessive behaviour on some tasks, withdrawn.

I took this drug a couple years ago. On the bad side, it gave me a very weird feeling like I wasn't the one in control of my actions. However, though I'm not sure this drug is healthy, part of me would really like to get back on it again, because I did feel a lot better in general, and a lot better about myself. I had increased confidence and an increased desire to be around other people. I basically had no shyness anymore whatsoever. I did not experience problems with weight gain, although food seemed to taste better.Withdrawal symptoms: increased irritability, increased agression, sudden desire to chain smoke, DO NOT QUIT THIS MED COLD TURKEY

Must say that I found this site before starting Niaspan and was quite anxious after reading all of the side effects that people had. I have been taking for around 45 days now; started with 500 mg and increased to 1000 mg after 30 days. I took my first blood test in Jan 2006 and C=315, T=1058, HDL=50, and LDL=81. I have always been active (jog 10-30 miles/week) and ate fairly healthy so my problem is hereditary. Have changed my diet in two years, lost around 20 lbs (must not have been eating as good as I thought, lol) and numbers haven't changed significantly in the last 1-1/2 years. Have been on 145mg Tricor for two years, Dr. decided to try Niaspan. I am anxious to have my next blood test to see the results.
