Revlimid (lenalidomide) Side Effects, Uses Dosages

Side Effects for Revlimid (lenalidomide)

Revlimid, given in 21 days on/ 7 days off, has kept me is very good partial remission for 3 years since my stem cell transplant. I have very few side effects except tiredness and some bone pain. Part of these "side effects" could be attributable to the fact that I am a cancer patient and have had a stem cell transplant.

In all, this drug has been good for me so far. Celgene has been a good company to work with as far as providing financial assistance for the drug. This brings the price down to an affordable co-pay that is about the same as what I pay for my blood pressure medication.

Chronic fatigue but may not be caused by Revlimid

This drug is amazing. It put me in total remission on 1/9/13.

Foods have bland taste and very mild neuropathy in feet at night.

REVLIMID (LENALIDOMIDE): Lenalidomide is used to treat certain cancers (multiple myeloma, mantle cell lymphoma-MCL). It works by slowing or stopping the growth of cancer cells. It is also used to treat anemia in patients with certain blood/bone marrow disorders (myelodysplastic syndromes-MDS). Lenalidomide may lessen the need for blood transfusions. Lenalidomide is not recommended for the treatment of a certain type of cancer (chronic lymphocytic leukemia) because of the increased risk of serious heart-related side effects and death. If you have this type of cancer, talk to your doctor about the risks of using this medication. (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)

frequent sweats, mental confusion, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, high sugar. also taking 60 mg vyvanse. hard to know whether one, the other, or the combination. severe constipation; periodic shortness of breath, chest tightening. major insomnia such that Ativan has become ineffective. spacey. problem focusing. horrible muscular skeletal pain. intensified insecurity, interference with work performance. extremely forgetful. worsened short term memory. like being in a mini straight jacket (description of physical sensation)

totally dulled the pain so I could sleep at night. 5/325

Very little to no side effects. Or at least none that I noticed.

UPDATE: word patch 48 hours. The worst of the blurred vision gone on day 23. Retinologist says that this drug can cause a shift in the lens of your eye and now, 3 years post LASIK problem-free, I suddenly post-patch may need glasses again for distance. WTF?

I switched from Lexapro to avoid the weight gain and sluggishness. Now it seems like that wasn't so bad.

Helped to stop PVCs generated from two sites in ventrical and showed my true problem to be sick sinus. Just got out of surgery to replace ICD to one with atrial lead so I am on full pacing. Sotalol will be part of routine medicine and was important step in my diagnosis even though I felt worse and had more abnormal beats until pacemaker implantation.

I am here researching it because I suspected a connection to becomase and my increased heart rate. After reading some comments here, I will stop it
