Requip xl (ropinirole hydrochloride) Side Effects, Uses Dosages

Side Effects for Requip xl (ropinirole hydrochloride)

After taking this drug for 8 months, my mother has gone from having a few memory issues and slight impulsive behaviour to suddenly (in the last 2 weeks) now having full blown paranoia in which she thinks my father is trying to make her think she is mad (she cannot find things and then blames him for moving them when it is later found), now spends hours in her dresser room moving / sorting out the same items & clothes (Impulsive compulsive behaviour)and trusts no one with has lead to some very deceptive behaviour. She now wants to control her own money with seperate bank accounts and wants to move out and leave her 38 year marriage.

The consultants are now trying to lower the dosage of this drug and my mother is on weekly home visits to moniter her state of her mind but I suspect the damage has already been done. My father had no idea how bad my mothers paranoia had got until I (the daughter) stayed with them for a week (I live in another country). The nurse consultant had no idea either as my mother did not tell her the extent of her suspicions until we went to an appointment all together (a week after her previous meeting) and she revealed to the nurse her real thoughts and emotions. Whilst my mother is adament this drug is working (the shaking hand has stopped), the side effects are just not worth it. If you already have any minor jealousy issues / minor impulsive compulsive behaviour, then I would seriously consider NOT using this drug as I suspect this drug enhances this behaviour.

REQUIP XL (ROPINIROLE HYDROCHLORIDE): This medication is used alone or with other medications to treat Parkinson's disease. It can improve your ability to move and decrease shakiness (tremor), stiffness, slowed movement, and unsteadiness. It may also decrease the number of episodes of not being able to move ("on-off syndrome"). Ropinirole works by helping to restore the balance of a certain natural substance (dopamine) in the brain. Oh my god it was terrible. A day or two after starting it I got sooooo dizzy I couldn't even stand I just wanted to lay down and die. Worst feeling ever-it made me not able to think clearly, and keep my train of thought. I got off of it within 1-2 weeks

This pill did a number on me and very quickly. I started worrying about little things which literally kept me awake all night. I started having panic attacks shortly after and severe depression. The depression got so bad I started having suicidal thoughts. I stopped taking it a week ago and am still trying to recover from these symptoms along with the cystic acne it caused.

Severe joint pain, muscle aches, insomnia, shallow breathing, agitation, depression, gastric upset, gas.

My menstrual cycle was fine before thanking this but after is been off. I have been off for 16 months my cycle was normal after about 2 months for about 6 months. Now its irregular :( My husband and I are trying to get pregnant but have not had any luck. I'm starting to think that the Sprintec messed me all up.

Ive been taking synthroid for four years and it's had its ups and downs. My doses change every six months, and Ive not been able to find stability in the drug. I sleep A LOT, more than I should. It is difficult for me to work for eight hours without sleeping. After work, I go home and fall asleep for two hours every day, wake up and eat dinner, and go back to sleep. On days off, I take three or four naps a day. It's incredibly frustrating because i can't stay awake even if I have things to do. The headaches are also terrible. I experienced severe joint pains and muscle weakness, and began taking a vitamin D supplement, and that helps a bit. I'm simply frustrated with the inconsistancy and fatigue. I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired!

intense burning, stinging, itching where applied

yawning, brain fog, tingling feet first 2 months

I sleep every night like a baby.

I have experienced absolutley NO side effects nor any menopausal symptoms since being put on the patch back in Jun 05. I was beginning perimenopausal sypmptoms and shortly after my hysterectomy I feel like a new woman - like before I had periods! I feel Climara is the best thing out there; especially since it doesn't go through your digestive tract. Those type meds can affect your liver and other organs. I just wish it would stick a little better too. I also have to wear a clear "overpatch" to keep it on.

for pain then to cope with life!
