Side Effects for Quixin (levofloxacin)

Severe tendonitis in both feet. Six months later I am still hobbling around in orthopedic boots.

who'd have thought EYE DROPS could do this?

agitation, insomnia, depression, tendonitis, sinuses swelled shut, asthma reared up, this was quite a horrible experience. They are not unusual reactions to any drug that is a fluoroquinolone, but nobody believes EYE DROPS will do this. But they do. They roll down inside the tear duct and into the spongy absorbent nasal tissue and BAM! THe only way to get a more intense dose would be to inject it i.v.. This stuff is horrible. I wanted to be dead by the end of it.

I've had bad reactions to other fluoroquinolines and told the Dr. this, but she blew it off. NEVER AGAIN. From now on I'll just tell them I'm allergic to it and save myself the 10 days (effects keep on even once you stop taking it) of hell.

QUIXIN (LEVOFLOXACIN): Levofloxacin is used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. This medication belongs to a class of drugs known as quinolone antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections. It will not work for viral infections (such as common cold, flu). Using any antibiotic when it is not needed can cause it to not work for future infections. (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)

I'm sorry to hear that others have had problems with Advair. It's been a life saver for me. Singulair didn't work well enough by itself, so when my doctor added Advair I became a very happy camper. I take one puff before bedtime. Emergency inhalers are no longer needed.

Taking it to shut ovary down and put me into menopause. It has been one and a half weeks since I got my first shot and I have never felt worse in my life. I feel like I have the flu.

Extreme itching and dryness of skin; difficulty urinating; always cold; pins and needles sensation in foot for long periods of time; increased appetite

I was so nauseated, I couldn't even tell if I had other side effects! I've never reacted to any medication like I reacted to Orthotricyclen. I vomited 12 times the first day, 10 the second. I hadn't vomited once in ten years before taking this pill. It was so horrible!!!! I had to quit after 2 days because the nausea was debilitating.

High cholesterol / triple bypass

I have not experienced depression symptoms onset to this degree in over 6 years. I went from having a normal/content mood to delusional beliefs within 3-4 of taking this medication. I thought my family and friends hated me and my husband did not care about me, fantasized about not being alive, cried throughout my workday in the office, and could hardly get off the couch the day I worked from home. I lost my appetite completely and lost 4 lbs within the week.Thankfully, a lightbulb went off and I realized Zyrtec was the only change in my routine. It seems ridiculous it look a few days to recognize this correlation, but my brain was not functioning normally. Very foggy and confused. My symptoms alleviated within about 48 hours of stopping the medication thankfully.Maybe this medication is great for some, but there should be more warnings visible to be aware of mood changes.

No side effects. Maybe a little weight gain.

Take pill at night before bed. Does not make drowsy, but I do sleep longer once I go to bed. Sometimes I'm tired in mornings. Helps alleviate some symptoms. No other effects

At first I loved it. The very first month I was very emotional, but after the 2nd month it got a little better. My acne started to clear up. I loved the short periods. However lately my acne has come back, I'm more easily stressed out, and I can't sleep anymore. I've also gained weight even though I'm eating more healthy than ever. I started doing a lot of reading about side effects and talked to some friends who had discontinued using the pill and were much happier. I honestly had never known about the potential side effects except for weight gain. My husband and I just recently decided to stop using hormonal contraceptives altogether.
