Nausea and bloating after a couple hours of taking it, fatigue, moodiness / irritable, and lowered libido.
I used depo before and never experienced symptoms like these.
Extreme nausea, I take pepto-bismol before i take my pill everyday and I eat while taking my pill, hoping it would lessen my nausea. I always tend to feel sick 5 hours after taking my pill to where I can’t eat and I feel drained. I also experience random cramps throughout the day.
It makes me vomit A LOT if I take it at the same time of day as any of my other medications. However, since I rearranged my medication schedule and moved all of my other meds to the evening, it's been okay. However, the first day back on the normal pill after the period week of inert pills I always feel sick. I don't always throw up, but I feel nauseous all day.
My epilepsy medication was making my old birth control metabolize too quickly, which invalidated its actions against my ovarian cyst development. I was switched to this one so that they would stop coming back, and it actually did the trick. As much as I hate being nauseous and throwing up, I'd take that any day over more ruptured cysts.
Slight nausea during the first half of the 1st week, small increase in hair growth, tender breasts
Before I was on Tri-Previfem, (the kind with different mg amounts per week) for 6 months and I had breakthrough spotting for the entire time and it had also eliminated my libido/sex drive to absolute nothing. That is why I switched to Previfem full doseage for every week, and it has so far resolved these issues
Birth control, period regulation
I've had nausea on and off all day, everyday since about the second day I started taking this. Was on Sprintec for a few years and never had a problem. This medication is suppose to be the same as Sprintec just under a different name. I don't know if I'm allergic to the buffer or what but I'm in misery. I will be stopping this tomorrow. I cannot take another day of this. It's not worth waiting to see if the nausea will subside.
PREVIFEM (ETHINYL ESTRADIOL; NORGESTIMATE): This combination hormone medication is used to prevent pregnancy. It contains 2 hormones: a progestin and an estrogen. It works mainly by preventing the release of an egg (ovulation) during your menstrual cycle. It also makes vaginal fluid thicker to help prevent sperm from reaching an egg (fertilization) and changes the lining of the uterus (womb) to prevent attachment of a fertilized egg. If a fertilized egg does not attach to the uterus, it passes out of the body. Besides preventing pregnancy, birth control pills may make your periods more regular, decrease blood loss and painful periods, decrease your risk of ovarian cysts, and also treat acne. No side effects for about 3 months taking 500 mg every night, then I had a couple episodes of burning sensation in my shoulders and chest in the middle of the night, which is a known side effect, even though I am taking 81 mg of aspirin before taking the Niaspan. More worrisome is I am also now experiencing some numbness in my hands and some sensitivity to pressure on the bottom of my feet when walking or jogging, so I am going to discontinue usage of this medication for a while and see if these symptoms are caused by the Niaspan. My blood pressure has also dropped about 20 points, which may explain the other symptoms.
Excessive fatigue, moody, easily agiatated
I only take this product if it is absolutely necessary. The side effects are too intense for me. This medicine literally makes me miserable.
I'm still in the first hour of taking it. The itch is unbelievable, but I still plan to go for the whole 7 days. I'm quite curious to see how this pans out.Tip: wear some type of panty liner or pad.
I was sorry about the depression because this product really does what it says it will. Sex was like ten years ago, pre-menopausal (I am three years post-menopausal). So back to the drawing board I guess.
does not completely stop the running nose,or sneezing,makes me feel horrible.would not give to my kids.I taken this off an on in 2 yrs when allergies hit.
Very irritable, lose my temper a lot, feelings of doom and gloom, heart rate goes way up while sitting, possibly RLS has formed due to this drug, weight gain 25 lbs in 1 year, can't sleep at night, only during the day, have sleep apnea now, it seems that it started about when I began this med. for 2 years now, bloating is horrible, itchy skin galore, and low, low sex drive if at all!! Life's too short, right?
numbness on left side went to ER was admitted overnight- had a whole bunch of tests all negative. Having trouble sleeping and now I have pains in various areas of body- as a result severe anxiety now (panic attacks almost daily)
It seems to help a lot but doesn't get rid of all my stomach pain. I could do without the drowsiness, but can live with it. When I'm up and around it doesn't bother me; only when I'm sitting does it make me sleepy.
At the start I did get crusting around the nostril but persaveared.
