Taking this drug was well worth the minor side effects I experienced. I now enjoy life again. Happy to get up in the morning, work and exercise. I did go off the med once - very slowly - but the anxiety and mild depression returned. Started back on effexor xr at 75 and the anxiety and depression disappeared - have not felt any need for an increase in the dosage.

It started with an intense burning sensation in both collar bones and then radiated throughout my entire torso and back. It hurt so bad to even take a breath. Intense burning & pain. I thought I was going to die.

I'm on 2mg BID, I was on 3mg TID. I was put on Klonopin because it has a longer half-life than the Valium I was on. I don't have to take it as often. I have been on it for quite some time and my condition being the way it is, I'll probably always be on it. Be sure to get your LFTs checked yearly, a lot of psychiatrists forget this! Also, if you plan on spending a night out with your friends skip your does, it does not mix well with alcohol.

Fibromyalgia, back pain, depression

I noticed awful side effects 4 weeks into taking this medication. I experienced a racing heart, anxiety, fear, nausea and lack of appetite. My legs felt heavy and I felt lethargic. Worst experience of my life and I ended up in hospital due to my heart racing. I was told to stop taking this medication immediately. It’s day 4 since I stopped and I’m starting to feel better. Never again will I take this medication.

The ONLY drug I can take that will clear up my UTI.

Sleepy at night was helpful... and during the day I just pound caffeine from am 'til evening that takes care of the sleepies. The constant munchies inspired me to go full force again with the Atkins diet - since I was hungry all the time... and I actually LOST 6 pounds in the first two months... so eat you will but WHAT you eat matters when it comes to the consequences of doing so I suppose. I take 2 xyzal a day and wouldn't be able to function without it... I'm on allergy shots too and it's very tough, but I'm determined to win this fight. Vivid dreams... who cares? They're just dreams! I will continue to take 2 xyzal a day, drink caffeine (love that rush) and stay on this great diet as long as needed. I've never felt better. The medicine works - you just have to decide how to counteract the side effects... and you can with a few minor adjustments.

drowsiness, difficulty urinating, EXTREME dry mouth and its a thirst I couldn't quench, feeling quite foggy and just dragged out along with difficulty/slow speaking. However, I know that Cogentin is a first line treatment to the EPS side effects caused by anti-psychotics...so I'm sure it works for many people but I personally had a bad reaction
