At first I had a very upset stomach and felt very tired. After 3 weeks my bladder symptoms started to improve, but unfortunately I also experienced some breathlesness, nervousness and the tone of my voice changed - it became deeper and quite strange sounding. I had to discontinue the patches for these reasons.
Effective on the bladder - but affects too many of the body's other systems too - anywhere that you have smooth muscle. (Lungs, vocal tract, gut etc.) Dissapointing. :-(( My bladder problems are ruining my life.
Drowsiness at first, but it went away after a couple of days. Constipation was so bad, no movement for a week. I had to take Metamucil.
This patch is much less potent than the pill form, which makes it more ideal for daytime use. I liked not being limited to bedtime. I didn't exactly have an overactive bladder, but I just had the SENSATION of having to go. It was due to a stint in the ureter, to unblock obstruction/swelling due to a kidney stone that had passed. It gave me some relief, but I still felt I had "to go" almost all the time. It was the stint irritating the bladder or nerve, alerting you you need to go.
I've been using the Oxytrol patch for a week now and have noticed no change in the frequency of my trips to the bathroom. The doctor said it would take a day or 2 to get into my system...
OXYTROL (OXYBUTYNIN): Oxybutynin is used to treat an overactive bladder. By relaxing the muscles in the bladder, oxybutynin improves symptoms such as the inability to control urination (incontinence), feeling that one has to urinate (urgency), and having to go to the bathroom often (frequency). This medication belongs to the class of drugs known as antispasmodics. This medication is not recommended for use in children younger than 5 years of age. Consult your doctor for more information. Unless otherwise directed by your doctor, the over-the-counter product should only be used by adult women who have symptoms of overactive bladder for at least 2 months. For over-the-counter products, carefully read the package instructions to make sure the product is right for you. Check the ingredients on the label even if you have used the product before. The manufacturer may have changed the ingredients. Also, products with similar names may contain different ingredients meant for different purposes. Taking the wrong product could harm you. Post SeptoTurbinoplasty Surgery
Within days of receiving first shot, arm swollen and severe pain in joints in arms and hips. Pain is terrible. I need to see a specialist. I have trouble getting up from a chair, out of bed my PCP says I won't be getting the second shot. She is sending me to Rheumatologist. But I can't get in for 3 months. This pain is terrible. I'm a RN I have never had this type of pain before. It's terrible.
I too feel shaky and agitated on this medicine - it's physical more than emotional, though. I have noticed that I get stomach aches once or twice a day, which I didn't have like this before I started taking the medicine. I also got a bladder infection just a day after I started taking it, and I wonder whether flonase had something to do with it. The limited good side of flonase is that my sinus headaches have stopped, but the congestion is still there. It migrated to a different area of my sinuses.

This is like a miracle drug. I have a severe fear of vomiting, so I keep these on hand. If I ever get sick or start to feel really nauseated, I just need to take one and I feel better within 20-30 minutes. Like most drugs. though, it works best if you take it before symptoms have a chance to get severe. If you have a feeling that your stomachache isn't going to go away or might get really bad, or if it's one of those things where you suddenly get hit with it, take it sooner rather than later as it will work faster and relieve more of the nausea. Taking it when you're already very sick and on the verge of throwing up still helps, but it may not get rid of all the nausea, just take the edge off. I love this drug, though, I'd be so lost without it. I can now eat out at restaurants and try new foods without feeling anxious and afraid about the potential consequences.
I was diagnosed with BPD over 4 years ago and started taking Lamictal. It worked because I no longer have severe depressive or manic episodes but the tradeoff is that I feel flat. I no longer experience passion for my work or recreational endeavors; rather, I feel like an automaton with a job to do. And I do it.
ALTHOUGH IT DID WELL IN CONTROLLING BP, THE SIDE EFFECTS ARE NOT WORTH IT FOR ME. I WOULD LIKE TO BE ON SOMETHIG ELSE. DR IS DIFFICULT TO COMMUNICATE THIS TO. HE THINKS ITS ME.
