Side Effects for Oxybutynin chloride (oxybutynin chloride)

Dry mouth/bad taste...food taste like cardboard...the meds work just have problem eating...

Not sure if it is worth taking since I cant eat

Horrible taste in mouth, dry mouth

It takes a special technique not to let the pill hit my tongue. The pill had a horrible metallic taste and dissolved instantly. I do not believe that the pill helped with the frequent urination. I quit taking after one month.

horrible dry mouth, lost most of my taste, almost no food tastes 'right' and there is a lingering taste of some kind i cannot identify, but food tastes bad.

an overprescribed cheap drug given to patients wrecklessly. stay away. next gen drugs are supposed to be better.

It caused a metallic taste in the mouth permanently, caused a taste distortion and burning mouth syndrome. Now I am a patient at a Taste and Smell clinic. Quality of life is ruined.

Dry everything, from eyes to genitalia

Drug is highly unreliable, works some days, doesn't work on others. Feeling it could be a quality control problem because it's so cheap.

I was given this medicine to help with the urgency I get with my IC. It has helped a lot, and I find I have been going to the bathroom less often. I also like the fact that since it is a gel, I get less side effects. I always used to get bad dry mouth with stuff like Vesicare and Detrol, but none at all with this. The only downside is the gel is sticky after it dries and looks like a peeling sunburn by the next day, but you can always wash off the residue after an hour and it doesn't interfere with the absorption according to the packet.

OXYBUTYNIN CHLORIDE (OXYBUTYNIN CHLORIDE): Oxybutynin is used to treat certain bladder and urinary conditions (e.g., overactive bladder). It relaxes the muscles in the bladder to help decrease problems of urgency and frequent urination. Oxybutynin belongs to a class of drugs known as antispasmodics. The manufacturer does not recommend using this medication in children younger than 5 years of age. (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)

People like me must make the pharmaceutical companies happy, but I'm changing that. I took the Flonase, that led to anxiety. To deal with the anxiety, I then started taking Ambien. To deal with the histamine thing that somehow this stuff brought on, i then started taking Zyrtec. So there I was, taking $150 dollars of meds a month, becoming a fat, blurred vision zombie, and not really dealing with the problem. I'm just going to lose weight and vacuum the dust at home, that helps my night breathing more than anything. If I have to, I'll just buy a CPAP machine, at least it's not chemical.

This drug is horrible!!! Terrible rash all over with burning pain. This started 2 days after finishing a 7 day dosage.

Slightly dry mouth and if taken too late, didn't sleep as well. I took them without food and was just fine - not drowsy at all. Actually, I felt more alert and had more energy.

Treated in ER for pneumonia with an IV dose of Avelox and given a seven day oral prescription. Within two days of beginning oral dosage, began to experience vertigo with nausia. After fourth day of meds, right leg began to hurt. Seven days after completion of oral dosage, right leg is swollen, painful to touch from ankle up to knee, have to walk with crutches now as it's too painful to put any weight on my leg. Avelox cured the pneumonia very well, but this side effect isn't worth it. I'd rather be dealing with the pneumonia instead of the leg pain.

I want to know if anyone else is experiencing these same symptoms? If so, has anyone heard of a solution to this problem ? I am a young girl and this pain can come on at anytime and is terrible to live with. Please help if anyone knows or even if anyone is experiencing the same thing as me so long after taking the medication.
