Side Effects for Oleptro (trazodone hydrochloride)

tremors, confusion, thirst, nasal congestion

when the body gets used to the drug, these are very difficult days. then it works. sleep improves appetite too. for me it only worked on dosages of 25-50. 75- it was bad. I abruptly canceled the drug and for 3 months I have been suffering from withdrawal syndrome. very bad. I hope that someday it will pass. I can’t sleep. a side effect during admission is lethargy and it is difficult to concentrate and pull yourself together, it is difficult to solve any problems.

Coumadin made my hair start to fall

After over the counter cough syrups, tessalon perles, and promethazine with codeine failed to control my cough, my doctor prescribed Tussionex, and it worked better than any of those to suppress my cough. My side effects were mild - the itchiness bothered me a little, but the drowsiness was not so much that I was unable to be active during the day, and the Tussionex did help me fall asleep at night, especially because I was coughing less.

Prednisone definitely helped get my Crohn's under control, but I'm not sure if the side effects were worth it. After weaning off (and experiencing side effects each week), my Crohn's is very active again. I'm nervous about the long-term side effects and know I hate the short-term ones, so we're trying something else at this point.

Bloating and increased urination

headaches, backaches, vomiting constantly, vomitting blood, spittig up blood, aches everywhere, awful cramps, hair loss, took it four months ago only once and stopped taking it... still no period. And depression and anger.

I have not read many good comments about this drug and would like to come off it but have to wait till I see my Gyno. The depression and tiredness is really getting to me and my family. The bleeding is becoming a major issue for me too and getting me down.

I found that by adding a tablespoon of lactulose syrup directly to 1/4 cup All Bran, with 1/4 cup fruit, a tablespoon of flavored non-fat yogurt, a tablespoon of muesli, and 1/4 cup skim milk for breakfast, my bowel movements greatly improved. The lactulose acts as an artificial sweetener and when added to the bran it tastes a lot better and seems to do a better job of "bulking" than taken by itself. As the French say, "bon defequer."

Rapid heartbeat, Problems breathing, shaking, anxiety, lightheadedness, insomnia

Unless you cannot breathe- at all- I wouldn't recommend. Especially after reading the other comments here.
