NORTHERA (DROXIDOPA): Droxidopa is used to treat symptoms of low blood pressure when standing, caused by a certain medical condition (neurogenic orthostatic hypotension-NOH). This medication can lessen symptoms of low blood pressure when standing (orthostatic hypotension), such as dizziness, lightheadedness, or the "feeling that you are about to black out." Droxidopa is used by people whose daily activities are severely affected by this condition, even after other treatments are used (such as support stockings, water bolus). Severe drowsiness, lethargy, felt dazed, with a mild spurt of panic/anxiety (that lasted maybe 15 min). Started approx 1 hour after initial dose, lasted for 24 hours.
Dont let the "seemingly"low dosage (.5, 1 or 2 mg)tablets fool you. And dont think "oh ill just take this now and then" THIS STUFF CREEPS UP ON YOU.It is strong and quickly addictive. RESEARCH IT! at first it was very relaxing but sooo gradually that I didnt even notice i became more and more anxious and fearful. I didnt put it together in time to know that it was the medicine itself that had "turned on me" and was actually causing the things it was supposed to stop but by then it was too late, if I didnt take it the symptoms were even worse and now im STILL trying to get off of it 3 years later (lost years)THIS AND OTHER BENZOS LIKE XANAX AND KLONOPIN and even VALIUM ARE THE HARDEST DRUGS TO QUIT AND THE MOST DAMAGING!. DOCTORS WONT TELL YOU THIS, ITS LIKE THEY DONT KNOW OR WONT ADMIT IT. IF you havent started it yet then DONT! I feel that my focus is definately more apparent, but I am worried about these side effects. It seems like all doctors down play the side effects but once you are on the drug all the details become more clear. I know I havent been depressed very much, however slowly my anxiety is wearing down.
I attribute the higher amount of estrogen to the side effects I experienced. I think the desogestrel progesterone is good for my skin, but bad bad bad for my moods and energy.
This medicine helped me make it through college (exams, etc.).
Bloated. Shaking severe anxiety rash weight loss extreme fatigue leg cramps tingling eye lid twitch dizziness. been ten months i havnt recovered
Its poison. Doctors push it then deny the side effects. It all a scam !!
Flu like symptoms....nausea, GI problems...exhaustion. Took shot on March 15th and was violently sick the following Saturday....vomiting and wretching.....haven't been well since. Went to my primary and he suggested I see a GI doctor. I asked him if he thought it was prolia but he didn't know about the drug. After reading all these reviews, I am convinced it was the shot. I was perfectly fine before March 15th.
Aside from being tired all the time and conspiring to sneak in naps through out the day, Cymbalta has helped greatly with my GAD and depression. My anxiety was on the verge of ruining my relationship with my boyfriend of 3 years but now things are great. I feel very secure, like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I'm independent and free from my repetitive and negative thought process. It's very refreshing. I do have a harder time reaching orgasm but I find intercourse to feel 100 times better. I just hope the tiredness goes away and that soon I will sleep at night.
I don't know why this med has so many side effects that the doctors don't recognize. Thank goodness I found this forum. I will never take this Bactrim again.
