Nor-qd (norethindrone) Side Effects, Uses Dosages

Side Effects for Nor-qd (norethindrone)

Only side effect I had was the dark spots on side of face by my temples. I had some spotting, light and heavy periods( common side effect).

Nor-QD is good. Haven't had any major issues with it. You have to take it exactly the same time not even a minute late.

I love this pill, I haven't had any side effects and my period is normal. I really recommend this pill as a birth control method 😄👍

I started taking this because I'm not allowed estrogen. The first few months I spotted a lot but now all is well and I wouldn't want any other pill. If you can push through the first few months of adjusting it's well worth it.

Depression, mood swings, unexplained crying, painful/severe cystic facial acne.Tried to push through the side effects, but it's just not worth it.Due to chronic high blood pressure, I'm only allowed "Norethindrone only" birth control pills. NOR-QD made me cranky, miserable, and very depressed. ;((

Cant take estrogen due to a clotting disorder. Tried depo and hated it. Love this pill though! Never felt better. No cramps and lighter periods. I recommend it to everyone

Dizziness, vision change, constant headaches, moodiness, weight gain, hair loss, acne, dark patches left from acne, trouble sleeping, tiredness, nervousness, anxiety.

crankiness, mood swings, irrational thoughts, depression, fighting with loved ones, feeling of hopelessness

I completely changed while on this and now that I am off of it for 1 month I feel great and normal again. It was going to break my marriage up cause of the side effects and now things are back to normal. Thank God I got off this drug!

Well tolerated, some facial discoloration (mask of pregnancy)

I can't take estrogen because of migraines, this completely controlled my perimenopausal crazy, heavy periods.

some water retention, spotting

This pill has been the best I've ever been on! Reduced PMS, just feel better all around. Bleeding is very sporadic however, but light in my case. I have tried many pills that seemed to make me crazy, give me hormonal headaches, etc.

breastfeeding and birth control

This medication was great when I was breastfeeding. I didn't notice a difference in the amount of milk I produced. There were no negative side effects. I took this birth control after the birth of my first son and then again after the birth of my second son. I nursed each for a little over a year. Once I stopped nursing I could no longer take it because I had almost continous break through bleeding. When on the combo pill I usually get migraines, with this pill I would get occasional headaches, but nothing severe.

NOR-QD (NORETHINDRONE): This medication is used to prevent pregnancy. It is often referred to as the "mini-pill" because it does not contain any estrogen. Norethindrone (a form of progestin) is a hormone that prevents pregnancy by making vaginal fluid thicker to help prevent sperm from reaching an egg (fertilization) and changing the lining of the uterus (womb) to prevent attachment of a fertilized egg. If a fertilized egg does not attach to the uterus, it passes out of the body. This medication also stops the release of an egg (ovulation) in about half of a woman's menstrual cycles. While the "mini-pill" is more effective than certain other methods of birth control (such as condoms, cervical cap, diaphragm), it is less effective than combination hormone (estrogen and progestin) birth control because it does not consistently prevent ovulation. It is usually used by women who cannot take estrogen. To reduce the risk of pregnancy, it is very important to take this medication exactly as prescribed. Using this medication does not protect you or your partner against sexually transmitted diseases (such as HIV, gonorrhea, chlamydia). (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)

I started on the tamiflu and was sick within 30 minutes. My daughter (8) and son (6) started on the liquid version to try to prevent them from getting the full blown flu. Both threw up within 30 minutes. I can't get them to take more, and have decided not to try. I am feeling better after 3 days, so am not finishing my Rx.

took together with stocrin. So far i had a negative 4 gen elisa after a month since stopping the medication. i.e 8 weeks after the incident. My doctor says i do need not further testing. The medication abroted the infection or i was never infected in the first place

I've only been on it for just over 2 weeks. It's helped keep me stabilized from suicidal thoughts, but the side effects can be pretty alarming. I just started getting hand tremors this morning. My hands and fingers move on their own now, which is sort of weird. The headaches aren't too bad, but I almost can't eat because of the nausea. The salty aftertaste and dehydration can be easily fixed with water. I can't work out as vigorously anymore because I feel weaker and incredibly nauseated. The hallucinations aren't terrible; just a little alarming. The meds are keeping me stabilized however, which I'll take anyday.

Due to a heart attack 12yrs ago I was put on Coumadin. They say it was a genetic clotting factor and I would take coumadin for life. When I was in the hospital(12 yrs ago) I hadmy first experience with a UTI. I had been married for 42 yrs without having any bladder problems. Since then I have had recurring UTI and for the past few years they are becoming morefrequent. I am now having them at least every 3 months. Of course this means treatment with antibiotics, pyridine and antifungus meds for yeast infections.Coumadin inhibits Vitamin K which helps the good FLORA in theintestines, vagina and urinary tract. Could this be the reasonfor so many UTI's and yeast infections?Theatibiotics are killing the good flora and the body is unable to regroup due tocoumadin preventing vitamin K to replenish the flora.I have been to specalists and have been MRIed,scoped,CAT scanned. All parts are fine and I know the drill(Cranberries, which way to wipe etc).If any one has this s
