NIZORAL (KETOCONAZOLE): This medication is used to control dandruff. Use of this medication may help to relieve the flaking, scaling and itching associated with dandruff. Ketoconazole is an azole antifungal that works by preventing the growth of fungus. Ketoconazole 2% shampoo is also used to treat a skin condition known as pityriasis (tinea versicolor), a fungal infection that causes a lightening or darkening of the skin of the neck, chest, arms, or legs. After the second day, lower abdominal bloating. pinching- felt like it was my kidneys- but it wasn't. Lots of gurgling and weird noises from my lower GI tract,loose stool twice.4th day went to another physician to request a urine test & it came back all good- should be fine by Sunday, By the 5th day, the inside of my intestines felt like they were burning, almost like acid reflux, pain went away w/ food- but the gurgling would happen regardless of what or when I ate - Called the first Dr. She said don't finish the last 2 pills. After I got off the phone,noticed I had hives or rash on belly, forearms and upper chest!!- Started searching web & so glad I found this site!
In beginning: Constant yawning, racing heart, weird dreams, dizziness, mania; after a few weeks: NONE :) If I forget to take for a couple days, I do get heart palpitations and bad dizziness but easily cured by taking my missed dose (good reminder!)
I am so glad I found this site! I thought it was just me!! Since having started taking this drug I have put on 30 lbs!! I feel like a bloated balloon every day. And the fatigue - I am just tired all of the time and I literally feel like I have just lost muscle mass since taking it. My muscles ache and are tired all of the time. My stylist tells me at every cut how "thin" my hair is getting. Ugggh! It helped my GERD, but at what cost!!

My recent allergy episode was so bad that I took Zyrtec and continued to take it for about 5 days. When the allergies got better, I stopped taking the drug. I woke up drowsy, sleepy and very irritable this morning. An hour later, after sending my son off to school, went for a nap and woke up 6 hours later from an upsetting dream. I was sluggish throughout the afternoon and early evening. Finally went to bed and shortly afterward began having night terrors for the first time in my life! I couldn't breath, felt paralized and had to lay there until I calmed down. Will not recommend this to anyone especially children. But for parents whose children are on this medication, I would suggest contacting a doctor as stopping the drug IMMEDIATELY HAS ITS OWN SIDE EFFECTS. Good luck.
Medicine at max does of 250mg has no effect. Physician raising to over recommended max to 300mg, Patient has decided to self ween off medication. Expensive and not helpful in some cases. Mine in particular.
I have been on 225 mg/daily for about 90 days; migraines have been reduced, but can't stand the side effects; daily activities have been difficult to carry out while on this medication; will discontinue
Almost immediately had sinus/cold issues and headaches.Numbness in my hands. Did not help my Crohns at all. Also was feeling a lump on my left breast which truly scared me.
I have stopped taking it due to the side effects and use Astelin when necessary.
had taken it for nearly 2 weeks and it did not help me sleep whatsoever. I learned it was mainly a pill to treat depression (which im already taking stuff for) and that there was a small chance it MIGHT help me sleep better. Honestly this pill didn't even affect me.
