Nexium 24hr (esomeprazole magnesium) Side Effects, Uses Dosages

Side Effects for Nexium 24hr (esomeprazole magnesium)

My son is 15 and has had 3 different GI Drs and 4 different diagnoses. 1-Abdominal migraines 2- peptic ulcers 3- gastroparesis 4- dumping syndrome. After they did a stomach emptying test they told us it was dumping syndrome. I'm still not sure that was a correct diagnosis since my son never finished the entire bowl of oatmeal. The nurse told us after about 3/4 of the oatmeal gone, she said that was good enough. To me, I think the entire bowl should've been eaten since they were watching the timing of the food passing through his stomach. I don't know. I'm not a Dr but if he had eaten the entire bowl, would there have been alittle food left in his stomach after 1 hr ?? Then it wouldn't be dumping syndrome…so I don't know what is wrong with him after trying for 9 yrs. He gets flare ups that come and go for about 2-3 months at a time. He wakes every morning with severe nausea, he losses weight, he only eats a few bites before he's full so he grazes all day, diarrhea, headaches. Then it suddenly disappears for no reason. So now we will talk about when he went on Nexium. My son went from a popular, center of attention, class clown, funny kid to ANXIETY. PANIC ATTACKS. CRYING. WANTING TO DIE. NOT WANTING TO LEAVE THE HOUSE.my husband did a lot of research and realized Nexium was doing this to a lot of people. I didn't.

some bloating/fluid retention, occasional night sweats, minor finger/hand cramps, dry mouth/metallic taste sensation, mild daytime fatigue

relieved the symptoms, side effects were tolerable, and can't say for sure that the all of the S/Es were directly attributable to Nexium

NEXIUM 24HR (ESOMEPRAZOLE MAGNESIUM): Esomeprazole is used to treat certain stomach and esophagus problems (such as acid reflux, ulcers). It works by decreasing the amount of acid your stomach makes. It relieves symptoms such as heartburn, difficulty swallowing, and persistent cough. This medication helps heal acid damage to the stomach and esophagus, helps prevent ulcers, and may help prevent cancer of the esophagus. Esomeprazole belongs to a class of drugs known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). If you are self-treating with this medication, over-the-counter esomeprazole products are used to treat frequent heartburn (occurring 2 or more days a week). Since it may take 1 to 4 days to have full effect, these products do not relieve heartburn right away. For over-the-counter products, carefully read the package instructions to make sure the product is right for you. Check the ingredients on the label even if you have used the product before. The manufacturer may have changed the ingredients. Also, products with similar brand names may contain different ingredients meant for different purposes. Taking the wrong product could harm you. Fuzzy memory, slow thinking, mood swings, not at all my normal self for almost 3 weeks afterward.I learned of the Versed after questioning my dr. and getting a hard copy of my record.

Good Medication. Exept for ALL the Side Effects Shit I am dealing with!

major depression/intractible migrai

I took this when I was 15 to 17. Apparently I was ADD according to my mom. When I took it, my room was always clean, my homework was always done and I wanted to do chores. My mind always wanted to be occupied, I always wanted a task. It was awesome and made me feel super productive. I was not motivated if I wasnt on adderall. The only problem was that I could not relax. I couldnt watch tv or wind down for bed. I got this extreme anxiety if I wasnt doing something. That’s why I stopped taking it. I’m back to my old ways of being pretty generally unmotivated. But that’s just who I am and I don’t need medication for it.

Even though I have been taking all this medication, I still managed to bike about 1,000 miles two years ago. (I was a student and working last year.) It takes a lot of effort to get up and go.

This stuff does not lower my blood sugar at all. I take 55 mg twice a day with metaglip that I just started yesterday. Maybe the pill takes time to work? Any advice is helpful

Nausea, Horrible Metallic Taste in my Mouth, loss of appetite, agitation, hallucinations, nightmares.

It cleared up my UTI, but I would never take Bactrim again...the rash was horrible, but everyone reacts differently so....

When I told the Dr. about this, he just gave me an antidepressant and said he didn't know of anybody having these symptoms, especially the headache. Needless to say he won't ever see me again.I'm not on any other drugs, so has to be the almodipine. And I didn't take the antidepressant either. I just retired 3 months ago from computer job, and was not sick.

SEVERE nausea! I took this the first time for a little over a week and made me so irritable and tingly headed that I stopped it. Started it back up again 5 days ago and since day one have been extremely nauseus constantly. Not sure if this is worth it.
