Immediate diarrhoea followed by vomiting all night. The next day it aggravated nerve issues that I have kept in control for years!! I am in severe pain and it's been a week. Think twice if you have nerve problems
I have taken this numerous times in the past with zero problem. I wonder if they have changed the formula or added something.
I am absolutely way too sensitive to nearly ALL antibiotics that treat UTI's; I cannot take Flagyl, Cipro, Bactrim, or Macrobid. My doctor gave me this medication as a last ditched effort; it worked!
No side effects at all! This med is old school, and insurance does not cover it. It was $65 and is found at compounding pharmacies, or old school pharmacies. Walgreens does not carry it.
NO PHARMACIES HAD THIS MEDICATION AVAILABLE. WALGREENS, RITE AID, ETC... IT IS HARD TO FIND AND WAY EXPENSIVE. NO INSURANCE COMPANIES CARRY IT. THIS ISN'T A GOOD ALTERNATIVE IF YOU NEED IMMEDIATE RELIEF AND HELP WITH YOUR INFECTION.
MONUROL (FOSFOMYCIN TROMETHAMINE): This medication is an antibiotic used to treat bladder infections (such as acute cystitis or lower urinary tract infections) in women. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections. It will not work for viral infections (such as common cold, flu). Using any antibiotic when it is not needed can cause it to not work for future infections. Fosfomycin should not be used to treat infections outside the bladder (such as kidney infections). I suffer from daily, horrible, crippling headaches and have done since a young age. I have tried everything. Literally. From chiropractic treatment to accupuncture and everything else in between and pretty much pumped every drug into my system. I read a post on this site from a fellow sufferer so based on that I forced my doctor to put me on it (I was at the end of my tether and was willing to try anything at that point after having a headache for a solid six weeks, waking up with it first thing and going to bed with it and taking Relpax and Arcoxia daily and it not even taking the edge off - She wasn't too keen but I made her as I wanted to try anything). I've only been on it for a week-and-a-half but already I feel like a completely different person and have only had one really bad headache since taking the drug. I still have a daily ache but its nowhere near as intense as it normally is and this has definitely taken the edge off the pain. I cannot tell you how this has effected me, just not being in constant pain has really given me a new lease of life. Its obviously still early days so hopefully it can just get better from now onwards...I would recommend trying this drug and really hope it works for you as it seems to have done for me!
So this was my first time ever having BV. Yeast are common for me & I usually know when I get them, so when I'm getting this gross smell (sorry) & horrible discharge I knew something was up. At first my gyn. gives me a single dose yeast pill....a few days later calls me back & says it looked like I had a bit of BV too so she prescribed the gel for that. I did not use it at first because everything went back to normal no smell no discharge. Discharge tried to come back so that's when I decided maybe I should use this gel. Used it & I was feeling sick like I've seen other on these reviews say but of course I thought it was just me. I had to take the gel day & night but in the day it was pretty messy so I wore a painty liner. I couldn't really see the discharge until I wiped & seen HUGE CLOTS of it just sitting there. No smell, watery, toilet tissue paper like discharge. It's now my first night off & I want to say the discharge is gone. I had it earlier in the morning but that was pretty much it. Some people have their discharge longer but I'm hopping it's gone & I don't have to deal with it anymore! Best of luck to you Guys

My son has always been a lovable joy to be around and I couldn't figure out what was wrong his whole entire personality changed, today I had to pick him up early from school he was very agitated, moody,cry out suddenly, frustrated and aggressive towards other children, which he has only happened the other times I gave him claratin. He has had bad dreams that bugs were after him and nightmares. I feel so bad that a child at such a young age had to go through this and not understand why he was behaving this way, and on top of all of this he got in trouble for his behaviour at school.The light came on when I was tracing back what we had done differently and bingo I gave him children's claratin. I was abou to pull him out of school,but I have changed my mind! I will take him off of this HORRIBLE DRUG !!!
I need to take something so I am trying to stick with this but the facial tension is extremely uncomfortable and a little scarey to think it might never go away. I went through menopause 7 years ago after a total hyst. so these symptoms are not change related
While the obsessive thoughts have greatly diminished, I'm not sure it's worth the side effects to take this medication.
Headache, General weakness & fatigue, dry mouth & skin, loose stool, mild abdominal pain etc.
for the first time in my life I am anemic. blood tests indicate I am not utilizing iron. Testing shows no problem in colon or stomach. Gastroenterologist suggests celiac sprue (inability to utilize iron caused by auto immune reaction to gluten) I have stopped taking aciphex and am waiting to be tested. I think the aciphex has reduced acid in stomach and I can't use the iron in the food I eat.
Initially, headache, sleeplessness...those subsided. I've been on 15 for over 1 year now with about 15 lb. weight loss. As soon as I stop taking it, appetite comes back! I am VERY physically active, I exercise about 6 days week. I stopped taking it again, this time severe tightness in my chest occurred. Had all kinds of tests taken, stress echo, PFT, MRI of chest, nothing showed up as abnormal. Went back on it, chest pain tightness, pain stopped. Tried one day of not taking it, tightness in chest came right back, will be calling my dr. asap.
