Side Effects for Mitigare (colchicine)

Horrible diarrhea after EVERY meal, sometimes in between meals as well. Did not seem to help my symptoms.

MITIGARE (COLCHICINE): This medication is used to prevent or treat gout attacks (flares). Usually gout symptoms develop suddenly and involve only one or a few joints. The big toe, knee, or ankle joints are most often affected. Gout is caused by too much uric acid in the blood. When uric acid levels in the blood are too high, the uric acid may form hard crystals in your joints. Colchicine works by decreasing swelling and lessening the build up of uric acid crystals that cause pain in the affected joint(s). This medication is also used to prevent attacks of pain in the abdomen, chest, or joints caused by a certain inherited disease (familial Mediterranean fever). It is thought to work by decreasing your body's production of a certain protein (amyloid A) that builds up in people with familial Mediterranean fever. Colchicine is not a pain medication and should not be used to relieve other causes of pain. (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)

Never had high blood pressure in my life. Since I started taking Synthroid, my blood pressure has skyrocketed to crazy numbers, now I need medicine for that. Dr. says it's a coincidence but I don't agree. Ringing in ears, sweating, insomnia, not happy with this medication at all. What else is there?

Dry mouth, vision, agitation, nausea .

You need to take it in the morning if you have difficulty sleeping... at night if you don't.I found it helped take the edge off my anxiety and made me feel more cheerful and positive than I was feeling before.I've been on it for 5 months so far and don't see myself going off it for a while.

I had been on Paxil for 5 years when I switched doctors and the new doctor recommended Effexor. On Effexor I feel in control of my emotions; no more ups and downs. I feel like I am really myself and very please with the results. I hope to decrease my dosage and try life medication free for the first time in over 7 years soon.

I have been on OTC Lo for a little over a year now and have for the past 5 or 6 months been experiencing extreme anxiety depression and irritability. My depression has gotten so bad that I've been seeing a psychiatrist regularly. I've been pushing myself away from my AMAZING boyfriend and had multiple panic attacks. I decided to search my birth control to see if maybe depression was a side affect and NEVER thought I'd come across this site with all these people feeling the same way i do.this pill has ruined my life. It is so sad to me that I've felt it was me all this time and that i was going crazy when it has been this pill all along. i feel like i am taking a dose of depression now looking back at all this time taking OTC Lo. I am calling my dr. tomorrow to get off of this insane drug as soon as i can.

annoying side effects but wipes out infection and works very well because it is a strong antibiotic

I'm so glad I found this site. I've been worried sick about my hair and my period problems, so it's good to see I'm not the only one. I've been trying to figure out what's been making my hair fall out, and this so makes sense. I'm going to the lady doctor in a few weeks and getting off this stuff. The only good thing about it was that it didn't affect my weight (like EstroStep) or my mood (like FemCon). Will I ever find the perfect BC? My quest continues.

I've been on for 7 days. Depression, irritability, TAKE WITH FOOD. I puked the whole day when I attempted to delay eating with it. Pretty sure I have a yeast infection at this point

Moodiness, breakthrough bleeding, always tired. Decreased migraines and cleared away acne

Constant shaking, a nervous wreck.
