Side Effects for Midodrine hydrochloride (midodrine hydrochloride)
Just started taking this 3 weeks ago. So far, no episodes of fainting. Having some slight GI problems. Rated a 4 only because I have not been on it long enough.
I have severe low BP which cycles up and down during the day. W/O Midodrine I basically cannot function in society and am housebound. With the drug I can at least get through an 8 hr workday so I can make a living. I wish they had longer lasting Midodrine. The effectiveness of each 10 MG dose is about 4 - 5 hours. It takes about 45 minutes to "kick in" and when the effectiveness wears off, it wears off very, very quickly (minutes).

Effectiveness may be diminishing somewhat. Urologist recommended that I go to .8MG - up from .4mg. Wondering what experience others have had with it.

Dr. prescribed one squirt in each nostril once daily for my 6 yr old with environmental allergies. She's been using it now for 7 years. For years she benefitted with relief from nasal swelling and itching, and no more runny noses. Then just last year, after 6 years of use, my daughter started having frequent nose bleeds. That lasted about 6 months, then subsided a little with the use of a nasal moisturizing gel. Then, in the last 3 months she's been getting these sores in her nose that won't heal. The sores inevitably become infected because they just NEVER go away, so we've been back and forth to the doctor for different solutions. Shes been on three courses of antibiotics and tried at least 4 different creams/gels.I wish we'd known to be more cautious with Flonase. It really shouldn't be used as a daily maintenance drug, indefinitely.Our Dr gave us no limitations for the length of use for this drug and brushed aside my questions and concerns, saying it was safe for long-term use. The studies that I could find online for "long-term use" were for no longer than 6 months!
arthriris symptoms, swolen, painful
not even 15 minutes after taking it i was covered in what i thought was hives. It looked and felt like a really bad sunburn ALL over my body. I guess this is the "hot flash" my doctor was warning me about. This is not at all what I expected. About 30 minutes after the side effects started, they began to taper off. Not so much itching, but severe burning of my skin. My side effects arent enough (yet) to stop taking the medication, after all, Im taking it to prolong my life!
dark urine, limb tingling and the sensation of my legs collapsing right under me (though they never did) nightmares, fatigue, metallic taste in mouth, no chest pains but pain in lungs and feelings throughout stomach and lungs of spasms, thought I was going to die from the stuff.
