This is so far the only drug that has actually solved anything for me and my myriad of medical problems for the last 5-10 years. Within a month I could see I wasn't getting the constant UTIs (cycling with vaginal yeast infection) I kept suffering with for some 3 years to that point. Been to plain urologist (who said I must have interstitial cystitis) and gynecologist, then found a combo urogyn, who also played around for a while, treating symptoms as they come (like, every 2 weeks?). In '17 he finally told me to try this daily. It's been a God-send. I was concerned I had a UTI once in this time, and that's all. Wish all my other problems found a solution like this.
METHENAMINE HIPPURATE (METHENAMINE HIPPURATE): Methenamine is used to prevent or control returning urinary tract infections caused by certain bacteria. It is not used to treat an active infection. Other antibiotics must be used first to treat and cure the infection. Methenamine is an antibiotic that stops the growth of bacteria in urine. This medication also contains an ingredient that helps to make the urine acidic. When the urine is acidic, methenamine turns into formaldehyde to kill the bacteria. This antibiotic is effective only against bacterial infections in the urinary tract. It will not work for other types of bacterial infections (such as in the blood) or for viral infections (such as the common cold or flu). The drug did an excellent job of lowering my blood pressure and my heartrate while doing cardio was much improved.
Bleeding from the anus, itchy anus, faecal incontinence, swelling of face and hands, stomachache, abdominal pain, blury vision, headaches, confusion and loss of memory.
Withdrawal can happen if you stop abruptly but other than that no side effects for me.
This stuff is nothing short of miraculous! Severe nausea absolutely gone faster than I could ever have hoped for (a few minutes).
Paranoia during sleep. Mild hallucinations diring sleep. Some itching at bedtime.

This drug is addicting! I feel like a different person. Clear of this drug for about 3 weeks now. I suffered extreme withdrawal (flu like symptoms) when I was unable to take the drug. After the withdrawal, depression I did not know I had lifted, my thinking process became clear and short term memory loss improved. I thought I had ADD and sought psyc help a yr ago. I almost lost my job and missed out on two separate promotions I did not feel qualified for at the time, all because of this drug. I was not consistently using my CPAP machine at night, but now I do and I have not felt the initial tiredness that I felt when I first started this drug.
