Very dark urine, yeast on penis, but especially a condition known as myoclonus: see:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myoclonus for a description. Kinda scary. very bad pain in joints and back, especially while sleeping or whilst in other sedentary positions. Gets better when I move around.
Although the side effects were not very desirable, it has caused my ileal Crohn's to go into remission. Surprising, because no other drugs seemed to work. Basically, I went from 6-15 trips/day to can before the drug, to 2 times a day with solid bowel movements. In a way, it's a miracle.However, it has not done much for the fistula, which is still draining. The GI said he had had other patients use the drug for fistulas and they dried up.So, ironically, while I was prescribed the drug for a fistula, it has ended up working really well for the ileal Crohn's. Funny, huh?Also, it can only be taken IV, so I have a PIK Line in my arm, and I have to wear a fanny pack with a small IV pump, which is a drag. Requires dressing changes weekly by the nurse and 2/weekly tubing changes.Also, really crappy stability with this med - only 72 hours. So, it seems I am constantly at the pharmacy picking up prescriptions.But, given my options, I am staying on it because going back to 6-1

After taking the first pill at 10am(1 50mg tablet), I was feeling pretty good (energized and happy but some slight nausea), but my doctor's orders were to take 3 daily, so I took another at 4pm - and all hell broke loose. After the second dose I felt incredibly drowsy and could barely drive home. The whole evening I felt one hill after another of a combination be being "high" and nauseous and I felt highly agitated by anything. I tried to go to bed at 9am because I felt like crap, but the constant rolls of highs kept me awake. For the first time in years I made myself throw up (twice) to try to get it out of my system. It helped a little, but by morning (I had to call in sick from work!) I still was having softer rolling highs and felt majorly hungover. I can't believe this med is FDA approved, if this crap is allowed as a prescription they may as well legalize other narcotics like crack because I felt like I was "cracking out"!!! I'm never taking this stuff again.

I have been on pravachol for 4.5 months and have been experiencing soreness in muscles of legs and lower back for about one month. Last year my Dr. gave me Zocor which gave me severe lower leg cramps after about the same period of time.
If your ears start ringing and the ringing continues to get stronger as the days go by, you should really get off the drug. It could create lasting damage to your hearing.
runner so not something I needed. But, other then that, I am very thankful my physician knew about this. Armour thyroid did nothing for me other then make my haif fall out and give me a rapid heart beat. Love this stuff!!
