To stop heavy bleeding and clots
I was prescribed this drug when i went to the ER to stop my heavy bleeding. and it stop the blood clots it stop the clots after the third day and i been taking them for 7 days now. But it haven't completely stopped it like i thought it would. Now i'm having bad cramps and light bleeding. I just want to stop bleeding altogether. And i think I will stop taking the medicine after tomorrow.
Drug has had little side effects on me. But ultimately i just wanted the bleeding to totally stop.
MEDROXYPROGESTERONE ACETATE (MEDROXYPROGESTERONE ACETATE): Medroxyprogesterone is a type of female hormone (progestin). This medication is similar to the progesterone that your body naturally makes and is given to replace the hormone when your body is not making enough of it. This medication has several uses. In women who are not pregnant and not going through menopause, this medication is used to treat abnormal bleeding from the uterus and to restore normal menstrual periods in women who have stopped having them for several months (amenorrhea). Medroxyprogesterone is also used as part of combination hormone replacement therapy with estrogens to reduce menopause symptoms (e.g., hot flashes). Medroxyprogesterone is added to estrogen replacement therapy to reduce the risk of cancer of the uterus. This medication must not be used to test for pregnancy. I was originally put on this pill after coming off depo-provera. Depo was only a short term solution for me. Because I experience migraines w/ aura, I cannot be on any combination pills. I experienced weight gain of around 10lbs. I am extremely active, regularly train and run 5Ks and mountain bike. I could not get the weight back off and did not like how it made me feel. I also did not like being unable to predict when (or if) my period would come. I felt like I had my period every other week. It became very burdonsome to try to keep up with this. I have since gone off all hormonal forms of birth control, and am practicing the Fertility Awareness Method.
Extreme dizziness and fatigue (usually spend quite a bit of time in bed while taking this medication), breast tenderness, bloating, headaches, mood swings, weird dreams, anxiety and feelings of losing control.
Did seem to lower glucose levels but if you can't see the rest of life loses its appeal. Be VERY careful with this medicine.
I have been taking Zytec for over 2 years, it works GREAT, I only take a half tablet daily to control allergies. But for the last 3 months I have been at a loss at to why my hair is falling out-I've read that this may be a side effect of Zyrtec-I've stopped taking it and must put much effort into ensuring my hair grows and get healthy again. I hope that stopping Zytec will help my hair grow back because I now have red swollen eyes and less hair-lovely!
Major Depression with psychosis
This medication may or may not being curing my infection. Time will tell. No major side effects for the first 4 days; symptoms report in order of which they occurred. On day 5 the muscle pain started (may have been amplified by doing yard work and raking during that day). The muscle aches and pains are pretty severe and I don't really feel like doing much. If I use my hands a lot they hurt (just the thumb muscle). I am dazed and confused and at night have to take Xanax in order to prevent panic attacks. I have 3 days to go and am looking forward to the end of this "experience." I suppose I would take it again if it does cure my infection, but alternatives might be better for me.
Not an easy withdrawl. Possibly, it was because my pain was not entirely gone when I ended the withdrawl.
I've been on Yaz a week and a half, and so far, it's terrible. Still, I'm going to stick it out this month and hopefully the side effects will let up.
Benefit after a few weeks seemed to atrophy gradually back to slow (and incomplete) voiding again. With each increase of dosage, the pattern seemed to repeat itself although not as quickly as before. Conclusion? Not-so-good with, but worse without!
I think this is the best medicine I've ever taken.
