After a few days my head gets foggy and I seem to miss words in sentences or mix things up.I only take it for short term so it's all right.Overheating too.
It's not like the new anti-psychotics which take you slowly down, for me it's like hitting a wall. I like that better. It's shorter, less painful and I can get off it all right.I tried the more recent but they are a pain because you must wait for them to kick in.The first time I had loxapine it knocked me out straight. After 5 days or so my bones kind of turn to cement and it's really painful.So I don't take it on a long term, just as a stop!Those are MY symptoms and MY experience but maybe you'll get something different.It's an old anti-psychotic...I've been "on" it since 2006. Now i'm relying on it when needed. So I put down 3 years of usage even though not continuous.

It works great as a method of birth control to prevent pregnancy if taken correctly, and I enjoyed not ever having a period/ PMS. I did have negative side effects, but the worst one is the *SIGNIFICANT WEIGHT GAIN*. I've gained 35 lbs. in 3 years after being on depo, and I'm due for my next shot next month, in which I plan to start another method of birth control. I didn't even realize that I'd gained so much weight because it slowly occured over 3 years. I went from 120 lbs. to my current weight at 155 lbs., and it's lowered my confidence and self esteem, not to mention that none of my old clothes fit.

I had read alot of negativity about this drug before taking it and was somewhat scared of the side effects. Having taken it now for a month I couldn't imagine living life how i did before. The side effects were minimal and very manageable. Before taking this medication i would have had extreme difficulting coming up with this short description. Now my mind is alot clearer and i look forward to starting a new day. Life saver!
Vivid dreams, groggy wake-up (use caffeine to overcome) no weight gain until I stopped smoking, slightly high blood sugar.
Besides the restlessness and anxiety, I experienced very unusual symptoms including a locked jaw and involuntary movements of my tongue. The first symptoms after taking this drug were subtle. I felt restless and tired at the same time. My mind was out of control, though I sensed my body was exhausted, my brain remained restless and would not allow me to sleep or rest. At this point, I didn't make the connection between these symptoms and the drug. A day or two go by and I was still taking the medication, until I realized my tongue was slightly arched toward my throat beyond my control.
