Lipofen (fenofibrate) Side Effects, Uses Dosages

Side Effects for Lipofen (fenofibrate)

Frequent urination, bad gas, abdominal pain

I'm hoping this medication will lower my cholesterol... I was originally prescribed Lipotor but my insurance would not cover it so doctor gave me samples of this...too soon to tell if it is helping my cholesteral and hopefully the side effects will subside soon. The gas situation is really ridiculous and not very pleasant to deal with... stinky!

LIPOFEN (FENOFIBRATE): Fenofibrate is used along with a proper diet to help lower "bad" cholesterol and fats (such as LDL, triglycerides) and raise "good" cholesterol (HDL) in the blood. It works by increasing the natural substance (enzyme) that breaks down fats in the blood. Fenofibrate belongs to a group of drugs known as "fibrates." Lowering triglycerides in people with very high triglyceride blood levels may decrease the risk of pancreas disease (pancreatitis). However, fenofibrate might not lower your risk of a heart attack or stroke. Talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of fenofibrate. In addition to eating a proper diet (such as a low-cholesterol/low-fat diet), other lifestyle changes that may help this medication work better include exercising, losing weight if overweight, and stopping smoking. Consult your doctor for more details. (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)

clot prevention. had TIA, have afib

Tired almost all the time. I find myself to be very moody for a few days after the shot. It is hard to focus and my mind is a little foggy. I have had weight gain but I think that is a good thing for someone with Crohns

It's working but I look forward to not taking it (taking 200mg orally at bedtime)

I took this because of bad outbreak of hives for which we haven't found a couse. http://www.medications.com/effect/view/26103 Doctor never admitted that taking prednisone caused these side effects. Would not recommend this to anyone unless this is the only drug that will keep you alive. I felt like I couldn't walk or function at all, slept 1-2 hours a day and I only took it for 5 days at 80mg.

After reading all the comments on this website I was really scared taking monistat 7. However I wanted to get rid of my infection asap and talking to the pharmacist he strongly recommended this product. So the first nights I gotta admit the burning and itching increased every time I applied it. Then I stopped using the so called soothing cream but still took the internal cream. The burning stopped, my sore skin healed AND I got rid of the nasty yeast infection. I'm sure, different women will experience different side effects but for me none of these horror stories became true!

At first, I thought this drug was great because it cured my horrible insomnia with Effexor. But then, all those odd side effects and fatigue happened, so I stopped using it.

I started taking Cymbalta in March "08". It has been a success story for me. I feel very well and am enjoying life. My experiences with side effects are minimal and were only when first starting and adjusting to it.Goosebumps and chills intermittently, fatigue and sleepiness, slight intermittent feeling of dizziness, urinary hesitancy, decreased appetite with slight weight loss.None of these symptoms were distressing and abated after about 6-8 weeks. Now it's just a daily med I take and is no big deal. I have missed a dose occasionally and have not had any problems but I never would allow myself to miss two days doses as I know what paxil did to me with that experience. It has helped me so much that I don't contemplate going off of it. It doesn't make me feel addicted like paxil did.Why try stopping what has made such a positive difference to my health and well-being?...just to be miserable?Blessings to all of you.

Seriously increased blood pressure and resting heart rate! A year ago it was a normal healthy bp and today discovered it's 140/59 with a resting heart rate of 99. I'm a 35 yo healthy female. I have the vitals of an old woman in terrible condition and in danger of a stroke b/c of Effexor!

I've taken Augmentin 875 four different times in the past several years for sinus infections and each time it works effectively with no noticeable side effects.
