Horrific - Over the course of four months, I gained 27 pounds. This weight was largely all in my hips and thighs, and was cottage-cheese-like cellulite. I had not changed my activity level or eating habits whatsoever (I eat a spartan, gluten-free diet). It's a year later and I still have not been able to take off the weight. Additionally, I have a high SHBG level. It remains high at 250! This is one year - ONE YEAR - after I took the Plan B pill. Don't let anyone tell you this stuff leaves your system quickly. It lingers forever.
I took this emergency contraceptive and didn't notice any side effects. As far as I'm concerned its a life saver. I was horrified i might become pregnant and believe me the benefits outweight risks.

LEVONORGESTREL (LEVONORGESTREL): This product is a small, flexible device that is placed in the womb (uterus) to prevent pregnancy. It is used by women who want to use a reversible birth control method that works for a long time (up to 3 years). The device slowly releases a hormone (levonorgestrel) that is similar to a hormone that women normally make. This device helps prevent pregnancy by making cervical fluid thicker, interfering with sperm movement, and reducing sperm survival to prevent sperm from reaching an egg (fertilization). It also changes the lining of the uterus (womb) to prevent attachment of a fertilized egg. If a fertilized egg does not attach to the uterus, it passes out of the body. This device may also stop the release of an egg from your ovary (ovulation), but this is not the way it works in most women. The discomfort became so bad, and was clearly intensifying each day that I began to look for causes and realized the only new med I was taking was levaquin. It is 3 AM and I can't sleep, which has been going on for 5 days, and I am here looking for causes and solutions. I only wish I had put this together days ago and stopped taking it.
Gained 14 pounds in 8 weeks, but it makes the physical tension I feel from my OCD go away so it's worth it. Missed one dose by maybe 17 hours though and I had a mental breakdown and self harmed, very rare for me. I'm also in the process of life changes, so it might not even be from Luvox. Like any drug it'll work different but so far this is my 5th medication and it's actually working.
I used to think it was normal to wake up several times during the night and look at the clock. Now, I fall asleep fairly quickly, sleep through the night, and often don't wake up until my alarm clock goes off. Some people think that having poor sleep when you're off the Trazodone is a sign of dependence, but it's not if you're just going back to your pre-med sleep pattern.
Am now 61, but started this drug around age 52. Had suffered with GERD for at least 20 years, but symptoms got worse with age and increasing weight. Went off Nexium, then to Prevacid, and later to Prilosec, hoping to get fewer side effects, but not successful at this at all. All together, was on proton-pump inhibitor (PPI) drugs for about 7 years. Gallbladder removed at age 44. Diagnosed with rare-type pancreas tumor in 2005 and had surgery in Dec. 2005. Went off all PPI drugs in early 2006. Real reasons for GERD: eating too much sugar and wheat (and other gluten grains) for many years, and not enough bile acids for proper digestion. MY CURE: taking bile acid salts and full-strength pancreatic enzymes supplements with every meal. Drastically changed my diet to high-fat, moderate-protein, low-carb (NO wheat or other gluten grains) with absolutely no processed food; added raw dairy and grassfed, pastured, locally-grown beef, poultry, and pork, organic produce. I have normal digestion now
It works great. My outbreaks were weekly. Now they are mayby once or twice a year and only if I forget to take the valtrex. I take it when I remember to take it. on the avg I say abotu 1000MG caplet 2 times a week. I am 10 years with HSV. But long term effects do have me looking around and thats how I found this forum. Good luck to all, maybe a cure is in our future... However, I guess their is no money in that for the drug companies

I am fortunate in that I haven't experienced the awful side effects that some other women have. I appreciate the lighter/to none periods! Due to my age I also appreciate having a birth control option that is milder then the others.
I have been on Lexapro for over 3 years, I try to get off and have unusual side effects, does any one wish to comment about this?

Very slight tremor (but all anti seizure meds do that), short term memory loss, word retrieval is sometimes very difficult.
