LEVOFLOXACIN (LEVOFLOXACIN): Levofloxacin is used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. This medication belongs to a class of drugs known as quinolone antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections. It will not work for viral infections (such as common cold, flu). I was prescribed 100mg daily pills for acne. My acne is mild and I felt that this was a high dosage to start right off the bat. I went from having no anxiety at all to severe, debilitating anxiety from the second I started this medication. I couldn't sleep for 10 days, felt I was suffocating and on the brink of a panic attack all day/night long. I stopped taking the pill and it instantly subsided. I cannot believe there was NO warning of these side effects when starting the pill. If you can handle a lower dosage maybe that would be okay, but unfortunately I couldn't stand being on this medication long enough to even see if it helped clear my skin.
Heart rate 100 & I only took 1 pill on Monday today is Wednesday, extreme irritability, anxiety, insomnia, horrible dreams and dry mouth & eyes!
Heart palpitations after maybe the 2nd or 3rd dose. My pain was easing, but stopped med after about 6 days due to side effects. Two weeks later still having heart palpitations, dizziness and some ringing in ears.

No side effects that I can think of. This drug has been a home run for me. I had been diagnosed with a Pituitary tumor/Prolactinoma in my late 20's and first treated it with Parlodel, to shrink the tumor which it did but Parlodel (unlike Dostinex) also had annoying side effects. Parlodel had made me sensitive to light, and at times nauseous.
At the beginning of the monthly packet, I experience some bloating, nothing major though. No extreme weight gain, no breast tenderness, no hair loss, no mood swings, an increase in sex drive, which my boyfriend appreciates!
My husband wants to send my doc flowers after I received one shot, due for the second next week. (Did the two/six months). I was miserable for about 10 years before getting the shot, but am glad I did. My entire mood changed, probably because I wasn't feeling so bad. My frequent migraines, cramps and mood swings disappeared. The only problem I've had so far is now at the end of the three-month period of the first shot, I feel like I can tell the shot is wearing off —I've been getting some cramping in my leg and utie area, but fortunately haven't seen any bleeding yet. I read a lot on this before doing it, and am glad I did. I only hope the second shot lasts longer as I do not want to have to undergo a hysterectomy.
Hives, severe itching on inside of forearm. Swelling of lymph nodes under arms and swelling of breasts. Pain in one breast.
