Kaitlib fe (ethinyl estradiol; norethindrone) Side Effects, Uses Dosages

Side Effects for Kaitlib fe (ethinyl estradiol; norethindrone)

Weight gain, loss of libido, inconsistent moods

KAITLIB FE (ETHINYL ESTRADIOL; NORETHINDRONE): This combination hormone medication is used to prevent pregnancy. It contains 2 hormones: norethindrone (a progestin) and ethinyl estradiol (an estrogen). It works mainly by preventing the release of an egg (ovulation) during your menstrual cycle. It also makes vaginal fluid thicker to help prevent sperm from reaching an egg (fertilization) and changes the lining of the uterus (womb) to prevent attachment of a fertilized egg. If a fertilized egg does not attach to the uterus, it passes out of the body. There is a small amount of iron (ferrous fumarate) in each of the 4 inactive pills taken during the fourth week. The inactive pills do not contain any hormones. These pills are meant to keep you in the habit of taking 1 pill each day and do not have enough iron to treat iron deficiency. Besides preventing pregnancy, birth control pills may make your periods more regular, decrease blood loss and painful periods, decrease your risk of ovarian cysts, and also treat acne. Using this medication does not protect you or your partner against sexually transmitted diseases (such as HIV, gonorrhea, chlamydia). (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)

I was prescribed Levaquin for bronchitis. The second day I took it I experienced shortness of breath, tightness in my chest, crazy, paranoid thoughts and vivid nightmares. I took the drug for one more day, but then stopped taking it after doing some on-line research about it. I am incredibly disconcerted that my doctor did not warn me about all of these potential side effects. This seems like a dangerous drug to me.

bad taste--severe headache--vivid dreams

Although this agent initially took me out of an acute psychotic episode the side effects have been pronounced. The worst side effects seemed to occur after I had been on 5 mg/day for several months. I gained 25kg in weight and my cholesterol went from normal to 8.4. (I have also been taking Remeron for depression and this may have also exacerbated my weight gain). After several more months on this combo, I have noted the following disturbing symptoms: intention tremor/apraxia with handwriting, vertical twitching of facial muscles (esp. cheeks), dyslexic typing on keyboard, inability to focus on task at hand, difficulty getting out of bed (want to sleep in), tiredness, feelings of despair.

HIVES-CIRCLES AS BIG AS MY HAND ON MY INNER THIGHS THAT HURT TO THE BONE!

Provera`s been helping me for the last 7 years. 10 mg a day for 10 days. Every two months or so. I control my cycle with it. It helps me to stop the weight gain and reduce water retention. I also took it to get pregnant in collaboration with clomid. It worked ! To each it`s own. Provera works well for me.

Fatigue, emotional blunting, low libido.

Feel great, no more sinus headache depressed feelings, have plenty get up and go, do not miss the sleep all that much. Was taking twice a day, now after anti-biotics & oral & spray cortisone for sinus infection one every two days doing the trick.

my husband was started on Aricept when he began asking me the same questions within 5 minutes. We were frequently having the same conversation. I think it has done wonders for him as he immediately showed improvement and has only shown slight decline since then. He is still very active, stays mentallly alert by studying and teaching. He will get confused if we are in a new location and has some perceptual/problem solving difficulties

I struggled with low supply. Lactation consultant suggested I take Reglan. my OB wrote Rx for it. LC told me that depression was reported as a small side effect but if I had no history of depression (which I didn't) I shouldn't be worried. WOW. I took this pill for 30 days. 1 pill every 6 hours. I kept a daily diary at the time and you can see how my mood got lower and lower and lower. As if it wasn't bad enough to struggle as a new mom, have trouble breastfeeding, and THEN get dumped into a huge depression? I ran out of pills after my 30 day supply and by that time had decided to quit breastfeeding. I didn't wean off (wasn't told to). Well, 2 days after stopping I hit a brick wall. I couldn't stop crying all day. Could barely take care of my baby. UGH. Went to my OB. She said she doubtd it was the Reglan b/c she prescribes it a lot. Hmph. I was put on a low dose of Zoloft bc she figured it was PPD (which it might have been combined with the extra boost of depression from Reglan). Glad to say 7 months later I LOVE MY BABY and I LOVE my life. Zoloft was great, it worked like a miracle. I'm starting the weaning process of Zoloft now. I hope it goes well.Reglan is POISON. New motherhood is hard enough. Do NOT DO THIS TO YOURSELF! Just go to formula. It is better for you and your baby if you are happy and healthy!!!

I have stopped taking it. Lyrica did not touch the pain I am in. It did not improve my sleep or my anxiety. All I got was side effects. I would not recommend.
