Intelence (etravirine) Side Effects, Uses Dosages

Side Effects for Intelence (etravirine)

Its like taking a placebo, no side effects. It is a bit chalky and begins to dissolve the second it hits liquid but does not taste horrible. Best HIV medication I have ever taken.

INTELENCE (ETRAVIRINE): Etravirine is used with other HIV medications to help control HIV infection. It helps to decrease the amount of HIV in your body so your immune system can work better. This lowers your chance of getting HIV complications (such as new infections, cancer) and improves your quality of life. This medication is usually prescribed to people who have taken other HIV medications (e.g., efavirenz, nevirapine, delavirdine) that did not work well enough to control their HIV. Etravirine is known as a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI). It blocks the virus from growing and infecting more cells. Etravirine is not a cure for HIV infection. To decrease your risk of spreading HIV disease to others, do all of the following: (1) continue to take all HIV medications exactly as prescribed by your doctor, (2) always use an effective barrier method (latex or polyurethane condoms/dental dams) during all sexual activity, and (3) do not share personal items (such as needles/syringes, toothbrushes, and razors) that may have contacted blood or other body fluids. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details. (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)

My case is complicated. I have had 3 pulmonary embolisms. My leg had a lump. Dr. Thought maybe an infection. He prescribed 10 days. 150 mg 3 x a day. Also told me to take probiotic 4 a day. I became tired snd exhausted. I am on Oxygen temporarily. I had to turn my oxygen way up. On the 3rd day I had the most horrific gastric issue possible. Black burning bowel movement hit me so fast that I could not make it to the bathroom in time. This was not diarrhea but it was sudden onset and explosive. After this horrible event my breathing stabalized and I felt better. I noticed after burning in my chest after taking medicine. There is also a nasty taste in my mouth and general feeling of not being right. I am not taking this any more espically after reading this site.

This has worked very well for me to avoid GERD symptoms and to prevent developing Barrett's Esophagus. Since I have MVP I have worried that without any stomach acid and therefore no first defense against bacteria it could cause problems for a heart valve and when I expressed this to my doctor he said it was theoretically possible. However I've been taking it for 10 years apparently without any problems. Highly recommend it, if you can tolerate it.

Diarrhea, stomach pain, back pain. This was very odd symptoms, the pain was so severe I had to go to the emergency room. I thought I was having gallstones, hernia or appendicitis...the ER doctors didn’t seem to think it was medication related, because he was not familiar with RA medications he said...I also had hair loss and very dry skin.

I called my Dr. when the itching and the abdominal pain started and of course he told me to start with the trusted Benadryl. He thought if I could make it through the first few days I'd get to feeling better. Day three I wake up with a headache and stiff neck. Being the rational, level headed mother of five that I am, I automatically assume I'm dieing of menigitis and my Dr. misdiagnosed me. Before dialing 911, I update my will, then read the side effects packet insert given to me by the pharmacist. Instead of 911 I called the Pharmacy which suggested I stop the medicine. I will not be taking it again. The side effects appear to be worse then the actual disease.

nausea, mood swings. insomnia for the past nine months. caused anxiety and stress. i was tired all the time. i did not know that it can take up to a year for your menstrual cycle to return to normal. i stopped taking it because the side effects arent worth it. it does protect against pregnancy but in the long run it causes you more problems. it put a strain on my relationship with my long term boyfriend. i would constantly yell at him and get mad at him over nothing. i do not recommend this for anyone.

This was a year ago that i took this dreaded drug and since then I'm still trying to regain my health. It is a gut destroyer.some people are susceptible to having a reaction from doxy as they may have a sensitive gut. Our bodies serotonin is produced in the gut (feel good hormone). Everything comes from the fur.if the goid bacteria is killed by antibiotics, it leaves us open to neurotransmitter deficiencies such as head pressure, nausea, loss of appetite, anxiety, brain fid and those nasty side efects you're feeling. That's what happened to me.i was bed ridden for 2 month after taking a weeks worth of doxy and i didn't know what was wrong with me. It can take a long time to repair the gut after the damage doxy can cause. I was put on antidepressants for 3 months cause i couldn't function at any rate. I had every symptom possible. Its like someone turned the volume up on all my senses, hearing seemed loud, light sensitivity, smells were bothering me, my whole body went out of whack. A year on and I'm still trying to fix myself. I still have brain fog or disconnection feeling, bur I've come a long way. You need to fix your gut!!get probiotics into you, fix you're diet and exercise. Get the good endorphins in you through exercise. Try to detox your body. Some recover quick, others take a long time to find themselves again but preserve, you'll get there. Stay away from anything that ends with cycline. My neighbour currently took doxy for brochitis and she started getting a burnin

Used this drug for outbreaks during pregnancy. Gave birth 9 months ago. A few outbreaks since then and always 1 week prior to getting my period. Gynecologist suggested suppresive therapy. Outbreak clears up within 3 days of starting Valtrex.

I started taking cymbalta some 5 yrs ago, @ 60mgs daily, with some good results however over the last 6 moths having been having son difficulties with life in general & pain associated with diabetes, hence dosage increased to 120 mga daily divided dose, this has help me in general attitude to life & getting pain free mojo back again, so far all good, allow sufficient time /rest to take effect, cheers pjf

The other day I heard a discussion on the radio about Ambien and things started sounding familiar. Even though the side effects discussed were serious. People were joking about it. I don't see anything funny about it. My father who passed away last year of inoperable lung cancer was given a low dose of Ambien when diagnosed. He would be up all night and sleep all day. He would put a movie the the VCR during the day (when not on Ambien) and be asleep by the time the titles at the beginning of the movie stopped and the movie started. Then he'd be up all night. About 2 years ago my father fell out of bed and hurt his head and arm. We thought he must have been having a nightmare (he'd never fallen out of bed in his adult life). Then it happened again 6 mo later and he split his head open on a bed table next to the bed...very dangerous when also on blood thinners.

Flagyl was prescribed as a cure for C-Diff (lots of diarrhea), but reading about it with the accompanying flier says it may (I would say WILL) cause diarrhea. I ate a quality probiotic like candy to finally stop the diarrhea. Why don't they recommend a probiotic with this drug? (Whoops, I forgot, drug companies don't recommend anything except MORE drugs with MORE bad side effects.)
