Hydergine (ergoloid mesylates) Side Effects, Uses Dosages

Side Effects for Hydergine (ergoloid mesylates)

Very slight side-effects. Mainly being aware of one's dreams while asleep.

Taking it at 2.25 mgs controls my apnoea (snoring). Have been taking it for 16 years and aged 79 I do not suffer from signs of senility. Gave some, with parents permission to a highly destructive ADHD 9 year old boy (4.5 mgs) and it made him normal for 4 hours thereafter it began to wear off and by the 6th hour his ADHD symptoms had returned. Hydergine may have other off-label uses not yet discovered.

None, after some mild dizziness upon initiating a very high dose.

After about a month, my attention and concentration improved significantly. Incremental improvements seem to continue over time.

HYDERGINE (ERGOLOID MESYLATES): This medication is used to treat mild problems with mood, memory, concentration, or behavior in the elderly. It is believed to increase blood flow to the brain. It is a combination of 3 ergot alkaloids. (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)

Horrible diarrhoea, nausea and dizziness with migraines. I also had chronic stomach pain that woke me in the night. Continued because Dr said these side effects were usual with this drug.Thought I would faint upon standing.Tried to push through because it helped with my joint pain and muscle fatigue/pain, however, on the last day of treatment, I woke feeling hungover. (I do not drink)I felt so unwell, I didn't know how I was going to get out of bed. Stopped the drug after finding it affected my liver. This was due to me having no gallbladder and advanced disease.I'm now taking the drug once a week, under sufferance.Still having side effects and since cutting the dose back, my pain is back with a vengeance.

I have been taking this for at least 5 years and then before this prilosec since it was released to the public. It's the best medication that I have found for my painful gerd but it has not cured it. Much better than any home remedies. Beware of unhelpful remedies promoted at: www.drugfreehealthsecrets.com run by a Chris Bloor

Nausea to being with which lasted quite a while without improving. Rather than give up on it the doctor prescribed lanzaprozole to suppress stomach acid and that has helped enormously and allows me to tolerate the imuran. Have had more colds and bugs than normal, and one particularly nasty throat infection but this is much better than having a crohns flare. Have recently started to get a lot of joint pain but not clear if this is due to Imuran or not and as long as bloods stay ok I wouldn't swap it for what went before.

Tried Wellbutrin, Effexor, Prozac and did seem to kick my depression. Tried Viibryd and truly think this is a miracle drug for me. I have so much more energy and my relationship with my husband has drastically changed for the better and so has my academic experience.

No information given me by hospital/ consultant prior to taking drug even though requested, and I had no idea injection would be a capsule. A sadistic treatment prescribed by a sadistic consultant. Another consultant has prescribed me Esmya, to be started next month. I urge for the boycotting of Zoladex, as it is clearly POISON!

If you take it, take a medication to prevent YEAST INFECTION, or, DONT TAKE IT ALL IF THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE. IT DID MORE DAMAGE*** FOR ME THAN ANY GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been suffering excoriating migraines for a number of years which no doctor could establish the cause. This week end was the last straw, I endured no sleep and the most terrible headaches. The problem is that Nexium works really well but the side effects are debilitating. I have also experienced memory loss, skeletal and muscular pain and the worst sinus pain. I intend to establish if it is indeed Nexium that is causing the problem.

After taking Benadryl for about 3 months on and off to fall asleep, I began experinencing extreme fatigue the following morning that would last well into the late afternoon. I also began having to urinate frequently, and experienced blurred vision the next day too. I didn't attribute the other symptoms to Benadryl, but after reading these exerpts I am confident that these are all side effects and will not take it anymore.

tired at first and very chilled

I have been taking this drug for more than 2 years. Initially I had to take the recommended dosage while my spine was healing -- 2 every 4 to 6 hours. I took this drug after roxicit and percocet. I feel like I was in a constant drugged state for 4 months. Once I was pronounced 'healed' I cut way down on the amount I took. I take it for break through pain. There are days I don't take any, and days I take 3 -- usually I only take one. I have chronic pain. Lortab doesn't really take all the pain away, it makes it so I don't care about what is still there. It does help.
