Hectorol (doxercalciferol) Side Effects, Uses Dosages

Side Effects for Hectorol (doxercalciferol)

My hip bones start hurting if I miss a dose.

HECTOROL (DOXERCALCIFEROL): This medication is used to treat people with serious kidney disease who have high levels of a certain natural substance (parathyroid hormone-PTH), which your body normally makes. High PTH levels affect the balance of other minerals in your body (calcium and phosphorus) and may result in weak bones. Doxercalciferol is a man-made form of vitamin D. It works by decreasing PTH levels and increasing calcium/phosphorus levels in the body. (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)

I am actually legitimately taking this for some neck pain that I have right now but must admit that I was very happy that the Dr. prescribed a 90 pill bottle for me. I can no longer safely enjoy Marijuana due to fear of random drug tests at work so the Soma delivers a decent buzz and I dont have to worry about failing a drug test. There is no comparison to the wonderful herb but Soma works in a pinch. It is wonderful when mixed with Codeine as it appears to create a synergistic euphoric blissful state. Luckily opiates only stay in the urine for 2 days (currently using them from a expired prescription). Must be careful mixing with alcohol though.

Constant chest pain, Constant swelling of both ankles and feet, fatigue, dry hacking cough and kidney pain and constant thirst.

It it easier to take ambien than work on the root cause of one's insomnia. I know that once I stop taking it, I will experience weeks or months of not being able to sleep well before I can settle into a regular sleep routine. I used to be able to fall asleep naturally years ago, but now I fear I won't be able to, so the Ambien cycle continues. It is a certainty that I am not yet ready to do without.

I have been on Crestor for 2 years. I have been aware of the side effects but continued due to the fact it does a good job at reducing the bad cholesterol. I do suffer from the usual joint problems and tiredness associated with taking Statins, bad pains in hands, knees and back. However, the worse issues are the memory loss, and mood swings. Sometimes I feel like the incredible hulk as you can go from a normal/happy to enraged over the least little thing. Can be truly worrying. My doctor upped my dose to 20Mg once and I came off after a week as I was a zombie with an anger issue. However, a relation of mine takes 20mg and seems to suffer no side effects.

I started out at 50mg and slowly worked my way up to 150mg/day. The only good thing it has done, is made my moods SLIGHTLY constant - for that aspect, i'd give it a 3 out of 5, but as you can see from my side effects and the fact that it doesn't help my depression - the side effects outweigh the benefits. I'm scared to stop taking it (but will under a doctor's supervision) because I literally feel like I'm losing my mind if I go two days without it. I have extreme mood swings, get crazy thoughts (suicidal & homicidal)...basically I feel like I'm not me AT ALL - I feel like I'm some nutcase that should be institutionalized. My ex girlfriend blames this med for me breaking up with her because it makes you an unemotional zombie. Seems that the only one that thinks Zoloft would be useful is my doctor. Stay away from this drug. It might work for you, but let me tell you if it doesn't work for you, you'll wish you never tried it.

sweating, jaw and calf tightness and cramping, weight gain, forgetful, dizziness.

I read where guy 48 took aspirin with this and had kidney failure. I don't like stiff neck or other side effects I had is so scary I still not recovered and lingering side effects feel worst.

Hair loss, fatigue, horrific knee/hip pain, period lasting more than a month, heaviness in chest, insane bleeding from tiny shaving cuts.

Very dizzy; tired; unable to concentrate or work

I am 3 days into a 10 day cycle, and the only thing I will say good is that I took the first pill at night, so that next morning, to date I have had no sinus headache or pressure or have had to take any medicines to help with those issues, BUT, you just have to decide for yourself if you can go through all the many likely side effects you will have. So for the last 3 days, I have had all the above side effects, and weighing the good, for it has helped what I'm taking it for. I wish I would've done my research before I took this medicine..honestly I'm pretty sure I would've taken something else that I've taken before that's helped. Do your homework and just know you are not going crazy and me reading all these reviews have made me feel better that I'm not alone.
